The Community Corridor

The Community Corridor The only weekly Market Venue of its kind in Indiana County PA! We will feature Artisans/Crafters Food & more

06/25/2024

It's been pretty busy and hectic, but we're looking at dates to start up again.
It will be Sundays from 1-5
Wednesday from 4-8.
Stay tuned for further announcements!

05/26/2024

ATTENTION...
After much thought and discussion, we have decided to hold off on the Markets until June 19th.
That said, there will be no market this coming Wednesday, May 29th. Please disregard any messages.
Portia will be out of the country until the first week in June, and I am extremely busy finalizing the 2nd Annual Ethnic Food and Music festival scheduled for June 15 and 16.
We will be making up a calendar of days that do not interfere with other events going on in the area, as it is not our goal or intention to step on the toes of others.
We will post the dates for the remainder of the season once we are able to sit down together and do so.
New agreements will be drawn up.
Have a safe Memorial Day.
Portia and Tammy

05/21/2024

We will NOT he opening this coming Sunday due to Memorial Day weekend.
The next scheduled day is WEDNESDAY MAY 29 from 4-8.
There will NOT be Monday evening markets now, due to the need to change days.
If you've sent in your availability for Mondays, please check your WEDNESDAY EVENING SCHEDULES AND NOTIFY ME OF YOUR AVAILABILITY!!
THANK YOU ALL!!

05/21/2024

For those who have received agreements for the 2nd Annual Ethnic Food and Music festival, but have not returned them along with payment, they must be received by this weekend!
No exceptions.
The deadline has been extended numerous times, but I must start to work on the booth plan layout.
If you haven't paid and returned your signed agreement, you cannot participate, as once the booth plan is finalized, there will be no extra space.
Thanks!

PLEASE READ ENTIRELY FOR VERY IMPORTANT CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS!!
First, we'd like to thank the vendors that set up today for your patience and understanding.
It's always a learning experience in every endeavor and we recognize mistakes and areas that need improvement.
That goes for those who took the time to visit us on our first day!
WE LISTENED! And, that's how it should be, because that's the only way to improve! We're definitely not too proud to admit things were overlooked!
And, we appreciate every suggestion made, be it from the public or our wonderful vendors !Even ones that were already in the list via our own observations!
It's been a pretty hectic time, with our having other businesses, and one being away on a pre-planned trip.
And, as exhausted as we both are, we forged ahead with today.
We know the bumps in the road are very easy to fix and we WILL do that!
FIRST: We are changing (after tomorrow) the days of the night markets. THEY WILL BE ON WEDNESDAYS STARTING THE WEEK AFTER THIS.
There are several reasons and the greatest is for the convenience of those vendors from out of the county. Two days in a row is rough on all of us! But, hard on those having to travel 2 days in a row for a 4 hour market.
Mondays aren't everyone's favorite day, either! Don't we all say that! 😂
PARKING : Signs WILL be posted, but if you're reading this, please park along Grant St.
We will be working with apartment owners to work something out for additional parking in lots along Wayne Ave and Grant Street.
LOWER LOT LOCATION: We will be posting signs and balloons to state to go behind Teerak Thai for the vendor area. Also, the rest of the gravel will be going down for the walkway from the top lot.
**Please be patient as the property owners husband is a very busy contractor and often gets called out and has to put other things on the back burner!***
We truly do appreciate those that came out, the compliments made about the shaded, relaxing area that helped keep down the heat of today!
We will continue to improve the area to make it even more inviting for all!
It is our goal to provide the community with an inviting area that you can grab a bite to eat, shop our wonderful small business vendors and pull up a chair to relax and enjoy the music or just have a conversation with others!
We also invite you to order from Teerak Thai and head around back and enjoy your meal at an outside table!
Again, we want to express our apologies for any inconvenience and will strive to improve!.
Your suggestions are not being unheard or dismissed!
Thank you!
Portia and Tammy

VENDORS.
Please carefully read your agreements. Some are not sending them to the proper place that is given in them.

NOTICE:
We are carefully watching the weather this week. There is a lot of forecasted rain, which may make the venue rather muddy.
It looks like no rain so far for Sunday, and if the ground isn't a mud mess from all the forecasted rain, we will proceed with the Grand Opening.
Monday is looking iffy, due to forecasted thunderstorms.
Rest assured if you have already paid for a spot, your monies will be transferred to the next weekend.
Please keep a close eye for any announcements, as I will not be individually contacting vendors.
ALSO. To the scheduled food vendors. You will still be able to set up as the upper area is graveled and stable. Please plan to be set up the days you are scheduled for!
Thanks!

Good evening all!
I just wanted to give you a little background of the COLLABORATIVE effort of the Community Corridor.
It has always been our goal, focus and intent to actively promote small businesses.
Tammy (who does the bookings,.etc) actually started the Indiana PA Country Faire Market in 2020 due to Covid restrictions. It allowed those brick and mortar shops, as well as produce vendors, bakers and direct sales, to name a few, a place to go to sell their products and to keep their small businesses afloat and simply put, pay their bills! Some didn't make it through the then restrictions, but the greater percentage did, thanks to the Market and that collaborative effort.
Portia, the property owner of this new venue at Wayne Ave, is a full time entrepreneur who has worked tirelessly in her businesses to bring the very best products to the area!
Portia and Tammy first met and worked together during one of the original markets.
Then, last year, Portia was invited to set up at the 1st annual Ethnic Food and Music festival with her Bobas.
She was a huge hit, and this started her roll out of the Boba Mobile and she has grown so much, she has now ordered a second Boba truck!
This venue is now a dream come to fruition for her! A goal reached!
That comes from collaborating with others! Of forming friendships, business relationships and a mutual respect, not only for one another, but for others wishing to grow their businesses, and most importantly, the community!
Yes, we all participate in the "larger festivals" our county has to offer! We work hard to bring these one or two day events to the area, thereby keeping revenue in the county, but also bringing an increase in tourism to Indiana County!
When you find others who are of like thought processes, and you form a business relationship, as well as a friendship, nothing is unobtainable!
So, bringing this smaller venue, and that of other smaller ones still serve a purpose.
And, that is, helping those small businesses within our county (and some from neighboring counties!), providing the community with a place to go shop, connect with others, listen to some live music (of course dance, too!) and just have a place to go that is LOCAL because we truly care about our local communities!!
Some may call these "pop ups", but this particular venue is beyond that!
It's NOT a competition! It's a true collaboration !
And, we're all VERY proud of this venue and the weekly events, but also of each and every event or festival that goes on within OUR COUNTY! Our home base.
And, we appreciate each one of you for the overwhelming support we've received so far!
We're looking forward to the Opening weekend!
And, looking forward to seeing many of you attending because we know you all appreciate having venues like this !
We're keeping the HEART here in Indiana!

Hello Indiana County!
We thought we'd take a minute and define what the focus, intent and goals of this new venue are.
First and foremost, we want to provide small businesses, produce vendors, artisans, musicians, etc with yet another place to showcase their products and talents! In the struggling economy, we feel it's vitally important to assist others, and want to help them continue to grow and prosper.
Additionally, we want to provide our residents with yet another venue to visit, shop, grab a bite to eat, and relax while listening to some music. Or, to just meet up with family or friends.
All too often schedules conflict, and people just cannot make it to one place or another. So, by providing a venue that will be open, not only on a Sunday afternoon, but a Monday evening, we hope to be able to accommodate all by offering additional days and times.
We want to collaborate with other venues in order to make sure we all assist one another in providing such places for you to enjoy. Our goal is to increase tourism to Indiana County, and help keep revenue right here at home!
We're looking forward to building many new relationships and friendships through our efforts, and to see familiar, as well as new faces weekly.
