Hi guys!

Good news— we have tons of interest in a second date so we will be adding a second day of festivities!

Would you rather keep the same grinch theme & activities OR change it up and do a milk & cookies with Mrs. Clause event? Activities would be a little different— we would have a build a bear station, cookie decorating, light bites, activities & photo ops with Mrs. Clause, etc!

This event would take place Dec 15th .

Tons of emotions after tonight’s meeting but most importantly feeling grateful. Grateful for the people who showed up to support. Grateful for the people who spoke on our behalf. Grateful for the people who wrote letters in support. Grateful for the board that voted on facts versus emotions. WE DID IT!!!!!!!

I’ve kept quiet but there are a lot of rumors going around before our meeting tomorrow so I’d like to clear a few things up with actual facts. I apologize if this is long—

1. We are asking for a special exemption in order to hold small intimate events for 60 people or less at our building located at 121 E Main St. The building will primarily be used for children’s parties, bridal showers, baby showers, etc. Additionally, we want to have a space that other small businesses can utilize for pop up events such as cookie decorating classes and other similar events.

2. We have 10 parking spots on the side of our building and 10 in the back BEFORE we re-line the parking lot. We will gain an additional 1-3 spots after that is done. Spots will be marked with appropriate signage so clients know where to park. Overflow is available at town hall. And again, we are primarily working with families, meaning 2,3,4,5+ people in ONE vehicle.

3. SAFETY is our main priority. We have 3 small kids (ages 4, 2 & 3mo). We would have NEVER bought the building if we thought it was dangerous. Our kids are there every single day with us. Garage doors will remain closed during events UNLESS client requests otherwise. In that case, we have safety gates that will go infront of the garage doors so the kids can’t get out.

4. ^ going along with this, we have an employee staying at every event to ensure that kids ARENT running around outside. They are also there to direct traffic/parking, clean up trash & help with the overall flow of the event.

5. With the special exemption, we are agreeing to put stipulations in place. Those include— no alcohol, no live bands, events ending no later than 8pm & having an attendant at every event at all times.

6. We have NOT been holding events at the building. In fact, we have lost out on thousands by turning down clients. The ONLY event we held there was a PERSONAL event for our son’s 4th birthday.

We are not looking to have a crazy event venue with a ton of drunk people walking around, loud music playing at all hours of the night, etc. We are primarily focused on SMALL children’s events. We would love to be able to not only host birthday parties, but also community events. We have plans to hold holiday themed events with visits from Santa & the Easter bunny. Princess & superhero days with visits from their favorite princesses & superheroes. Back to school bashes, end of the year parties and everything in between. Anyone who has attended ANY event I have thrown (including our 4th of July fireworks show) knows that my main goal is creating memorable experiences for the kids.

I have said it before and it still stands— I am happy to walk through our building with ANYONE and show you the changes we have made, talk through our plans & answer any questions you may have. I will be around the building all day tomorrow (9/18) before our meeting at 6pm.
