Hey everyone! I just got hit with three fake one star reviews making some seriously false allegations, from very fake looking accounts. Google is the lifeblood of my business. I have reported this to Google, but if you want to help, leaving as many five star reviews as possible will offset the negative impact.

Today is a big day for me—it’s my one year Stomaversary, AKA the day where I had my ileostomy placed and my life changed forever.

I wasn’t expected to be able to eat again, but now the feeding tube is also gone and I have my Steven Universe glow-in-the-dark button. That’ll go one day too.

Ostomies save lives, don’t give up, and be your own advocate!

I was crashing really hard after getting back into the gym, so now I’m bulking up on a 3000 calorie sumo wrestler diet from my doctor, so it’s been a humbling reminder that simple things go a long way and that late stage recovery is about fine tuning and being grateful for how far you’ve come.

It occurred to me that most people greatly underestimate how much raw emotion, pressed juice, and smoothies go into a lifechanging recovery.

That, and getting up and doing stuff anyways.

I was just telling someone a few days ago,

“There were times I almost didn’t go back out there. I almost didn’t pack my IV up and pull myself together and struggle through the day, or that late night party I booked. I’d just lay in bed for three days after and still have to take care of the kids in between bouts of pain and fatigue. I didn’t know what the hell I was doing, but I was grateful to have a purpose. To think I almost gave it up…”

In retrospect, it takes some grit. You have to know where to push yourself and where to surrender. And the rules are constantly changing.

No matter what you’re fighting, and it’s 2025 so I know you’re fighting something, there’s magic in showing up for yourself.

Especially when doing that involves showing up for other people too.

There are no wasted days, just wasted worry.

I don’t know how to turn the worry off, but I know some good ways to reframe it.

Oh, and tea. It takes a good amount of hot tea. And sometimes baths with magnesium salt.
