Can I brag about someone for a minute? I had so many requests this year for Halloween parties that I had to make a tough decision—turn people away or ask for help. I could not be more grateful for my friend Joanna Faust for being the first person to collaborate with me independently on private events.

Joanna ( )took on some HUGE groups as my first ever friend in business and magic™ to go in solo after I did the “event planning” side of things. I am so amazed and blown away by you my fabulous friend, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your time, energy, effort, and passion.

It’s not easy to read for big groups. It means leaving everything at the door and giving 20-50 strangers your best self. It’s not a simple thing to bring magic to that many strangers and leave as friends.

Joanna, thank you! I hope you know how much I appreciate you and how amazing of an impression you left on every guest.

And to all of you, if you’ve got a holiday party you’re trying to find a reader for, I might know a few people.

PS. Maybe now you should check her out and follow her on IG?

You’re a wizard, Harry. Seriously though, here’s a little peek at the “Witch’s Party” and I teamed up on. I have never dressed up to do readings, but when Julia hands you a cape and a top hat, you don’t say “No” to 30 witches. This season is almost over, so thanks a ton to everyone who reached out for a party and event. This is a year for a lot of firsts, and a lot of doing the same old thing like a well oiled machine. I’m still the luckiest person alive, largely in part because I know all of you. Thanks for being here!

Happy Ostomy Awareness Day! Here’s what I’ve learned in seven months with one:

- I was not expected to eat again by my surgeon, that was a happy side effect of making the choice to have an ostomy placed. Mine is an ileostomy.

- I recovered faster in six months with an ostomy than I did in the three years I spent before having it placed.

- Ostomies don’t limit people—I do a lot more with my ostomy than I ever could without it.

- Generally, I don’t think much about my ostomy unless I’m changing my appliance and it’s rarely ever uncomfortable. Some people struggle with theirs, but the right product combination generally eliminates most issues you could face.

- I have only had two leaks. Once while out, and one at home. I have virtually zero embarrassment about anything that could happen with my ostomy because it saved my life and made my body work properly again.

- After getting my ostomy placed and recovering initially, I can now eat almost anything I want aside from vegetables that aren’t puréed or juiced because the high level of fiber causes intestinal blockages.

- Ostomies don’t smell bad and don’t affect other people around you. They in rare occasions will w**d out people you don’t need around you because they become afraid of something they don’t understand.

- You swim and shower with your appliance on. Most people change it every 2-5 days during their regular getting ready routine. An appliance change takes about 5-10 minutes.

- People typically name their ostomies. The best and most informative ostomy community is on Reddit. My favorite thing anybody said in the /ostomy subreddit is, “You still use your ass? How retched!”

- The word “Ostomy,” is a combinations of “Os,” or the opening in the intestine, and “Stoma,” the opening in the abdomen where the intestine comes out.

- There are no nerve endings in your intestine so you can’t really feel your stoma, only sensations on the skin around it.

Now you’re an expert—run a victory lap with me today! Or maybe you wanna ask a question, go for it. If you or a loved one ever needs an ostomy, now you know some stuff.

TFW it’s been two years since you could eat anything, and toast is now your safe food, so naturally you get some sourdough because life is too short to eat bad toast.

Reintroducing foods is a lot of trial and error, but toast is the most best, always!

Want to see a progress picture? You’ve seen me and stayed with me through my worst, seen all the nitty gritty here too, now watch me at my best. Two years in the making, it’s TOAST!
This is my first real full meal since 2022. You never know when you take a chance if you’ll fly or fall, but things are looking good so far. I hope you fly too.

I remember watching the days pass and thinking nothing would ever change. Just a friendly reminder that there’s nothing too big.

In the middle of those little ups and down, you don’t always see it, but you’re building a life. And eventually you step back and say, “yeah, that’s my life, I built that.”

In the meantime, have to cook up a little happiness in your own kitchen. You can’t always order in.

The whole idea that it’s supposed to always be easy, or grand, I don’t know where it came from but I can’t relate to it. It doesn’t seem plausible or true. I do know it can always be meaningful, and choosing to give meaning to your many labors of love is such a fruitful, defiant act.

It the consistency that binds things together.

And it doesn’t wash away whatever presses down on you, but it helps you push back until you reach the days where you’re breathing easy again and feeling grateful.

Life is big, and heavy, and mean, and beautiful; it’s flawed and unrelenting.

But I think we’re bigger. We have to be.

Mercury is definitely still drinking Gatorade, I just honestly can’t decide which flavor—I think it’s all of them. What I do know is that you kind of just have to let it happen. So much of whatever is going on is just a dust cloud raging, and when it settles down things will look very different.
It’s easy to want to jump into action when things are unclear, so I asked Etteilla (probably my favorite deck) for some guidance that I could share with all of you. This card translates to the Hierophant, and from what I know about Hierophants, they like to do things properly. They like systems and order. Well, good luck to them, because this is a time where priestesses shine. Unlike Hierophants, Priestesses can swallow chaos and digest it properly. I think it has something to do with the inebriation toward deep feelings and knowingness that takes place in the minds of men (or left brain). But we need systems and order, we also need to understand that they will inevitably fail us. You can use a strategy and keep things loose, flowing, open ended. You’ve got to make plans and be open to remaking them. Plans should feel lived in, or they become rigid, dead things.
If you can adapt you’re alive and tuned in, rolling with the waves, isn’t that the way to be?

Our Story

Yale Bowman offers healing and guidance as a psychic-medium, intuitive coach, expert hand analyst, and natural Shaman. His services are provided in-person, by phone, through messaging, and online.

Yale developed his natural gifts at a young age, and began to direct them toward the healing of others; something he has always been very passionate about. After a long battle with chronic illness, and several near death experiences, Yale felt called by the universe to take up his work as a psychic, Shaman, and healer.

Because of this, Relevant Readings is a business based in human interest with a focus on authentic and affordable spiritual healing and guidance. We value the developmental growth of each client, and are dedicated to giving back in the local community by providing accessible services to all people.
