I got a story to tell:

This guy approached me about two months ago while I was at the gas station in the food truck.

He asked me was it my food truck and I told him yes!!

He showed me a DM that he previously sent me (I suck at checking DMs) asking if we could link to talk business because he was interested in getting into the food truck business.

Yesterday, I finally got a chance to sit down with him. He ran down his ideas, and asked if I could help out in any way.

Without any hesitation, I helped as much as I could, and offered him some resources that could help him get started.

Long story short… today he secured a brand new truck. Praying it will hopefully be the beginning of his journey soon.

He thanked me for the help. Along with that, the sales rep reached out and thanked me for the referral.

Never be too selfish to lend a hand to anyone chasing their dreams.

I had a few ppl help me along the way, and I’m just paying it forward!!

UJIMA is a 4-part dinner series that takes place in four historically Black neighborhoods of Indianapolis highlighting Black culinary artists, visual artists, and entertainers.

Each dinner has a different theme and different artists that give attendees an opportunity to celebrate much of the city's great talent, while contributing to their mission to enhance the health and wellness of Black communities in Indiana. ⁠
