Fall is in full bloom! Here is a quick spin around one of our favorite autumn-inspired centerpieces. Blink and you might miss a detail, but that’s the magic of fall - so many layers to admire! Don’t worry, there is more where this came from, so stay tuned for more close-up shots!
This absolutely lovely couple just had a baby, so sharing some pics from when their love story became legally official felt appropriate! 📸 @rebeccashehornphoto
Bouquets used to be my favorite portion of wedding flowers to design, but recently I’ve started to be all about designing ceremony spaces! So many different options! Arches/arbors, flowers on stands, flowers on the ground, lush candles, hanging flowers…we’ve done all of these ways and more - and always love coming up with new designs with clients!
Who wants to come make some flowers with us with a cocktail in hand this Thursday @hoteltangofletcherplace ?! Instead of raising your hand, head to our website vabindy.com and tap the workshop tab to sign up and see our smiling faces!! Would love to have you and your friends or significant other join in on the fun!!
Brides - Did you know yellow is a trending color people are incorporating a lot into their wedding flowers?! There are so many shades, from a butter cream yellow, to crayon yellow, into the more golden yellow. They can be incorporated as an accent flower or as one of your main colors! Sometimes they can be used to help make other colors pop, too! If you like any of these specific flowers, save them for reference when you meet for your floral consultation! (Hint: go to our website to complete the initial contact form!)
When I see pictures of our couples having fun with their people on their wedding day, it inevitably brings a smile to my face! Let’s admit it, weddings can be stressful. However, when you have a day that is literally built around you have those closest to you around, you are bound to have smiles splashed across your face on repeat! I won’t lie, even after doing this for well over a decade, my favorite part of the wedding process is still delivering the bouquets. From the initial consult, to emails, phone calls, follow up meetings, actually placing the order for the flowers, then designing the flowers, and finally getting to hand deliver them and getting to share in the joy of the bride seeing the flowers she will hold as she walks down the aisle, fills my heart with the love that is amply around on wedding days! 📸 @adamandbecca
I’m not sure why, but this design was my fav one we made at the NBA All Star Reception we did this week!
Did you know...👇
When you say “pink” is one of your colors, did you realize that there are a zillion different shades of pink (almost literally)?? I had no idea until I started playing with flowers on a daily basis! Just a select few are pictured here!
It is our job to understand what your shade of pink means to you, but pictures or samples of fabric are always helpful! An experienced floral designer will know, off hand, many, many shades of variety of pink. Talk with them and let them help you with the flower section. Not every flower comes in the same shade and many stems pair well with another, not just because of tone, but also because of texture.
Pink is definitely one of the most requested colors! It’s soft, it pairs well with many other shades and it can add a shade of softness, yet elegance. Basically, it’s a great plays nice with friends tone that can make bolder tones pop or can add to the flowers in its same hue!
Also, a suggestion - if your bridesmaids are wearing a pink dress, pick a color other than pink for the ribbon - or at least a shade off. Otherwise, the colors compete with each other!
For the record, the coraly-pink garden rose does it for me! Do you have a preference?
We designed the flowers to go in front of these bookshelves that held books for each guest - inside was a hand written note and a bookmark telling each guest where they were seated! Isn’t that just the cutest idea?! I won’t lie, the colors of the books were fun to tie the colors of the flowers together with! 📷 @tessarobbins_photo
From the moment I first met with these two and one of their moms, I could feel the excitement they all had for their big day! They had such a beautiful vision and bringing it to life in front of them the day of their wedding and seeing their excitement was such a joy! 📸 @rogueimagephoto
I was recently asked what my favorite installation we’ve ever created was. We’ve designed so many stunners, it’s really hard to narrow one down. With that said, the one pictured will forever be one of my favs. It was a beast, coming in at 6 feet long and 4 feet wide. It was amazing as a backdrop during the ceremony, during dinner with the sweetheart table underneath, and then hanging above everyone at night when they danced the night away! 📸 @rebeccashehornphoto
