The key to staying on top of everything is organization! When you begin your planning process, create a timeline and assign yourself deadlines for important tasks. Create checklists of all tasks that must be completed so you won't lose track of anything. Have a designated folder where you store all contracts, receipts, and vendor information together in one place. With some patience and focus, you'll have a beautiful wedding that everyone will remember!

You don’t have to have a huge, extravagant cake. Seriously, you can have a modest two or three tiered caked in a center of a beautifully decorated table surrounded by delectable desserts and other sweet. Imagine your cake in the center, cupcake displays off the either side, macaroons displayed towards the front, dishes of chocolates, fruit and other treats intentionally placed. To decorate the table add features from your wedding theme, maybe even light up the frame of the table and add a drink bowl or dispenser. Think outside the box, make your wedding memorable.

Once you decide on the color scheme and theme, reuse the boards to create inspirations for invitations, wedding dresses, décor, florals, hairstyles etc. The possibilities are endless and it will surely help keep your mind organized, while setting your imagination free.

What would a wedding be without celebratory booze? When deciding how many bartenders you will need a good rule of thumb is one bartender per 50 guests. However, if you plan on serving a signature cocktail that has to be made to order consider hiring one bartender who handles this task.

Staying organized is the only way that you will successfully stay on budget and meet the deadlines you set fourth for yourself without everything spiraling out of control. Purchase a wedding journal or a binder to easily add or toss pages, ideas, take notes, collect magazine clippings etc. Create a separate wedding email address to stay connected and organized with vendors.

Did you know it's customary to provide a meal for your vendors? In fact, some vendors and those providing entertainment require it. Prior to signing the contract with your venue and caterer discuss budget friendly hardy meals that may not be as costly as the meals provide to your guests, but, still packs a punch. You don’t want to end up paying for twenty or more additional lobster tails.

Be honest weddings are pricey, even if you have determined a budget, it’s a one or two day event that sucks up a decent amount of your savings. Sure, you are embarking on a life journey with your life partner, your making memories, sharing your moment with friends and family, but, what are your receiving in return for the monetary expense? Use this big expense to your advantage, credit cards now offer rewards programs, paired with airlines.

Choosing the right wedding date can get a little tricky. Trying to accommodate the life events of your immediate family to ensure they attend, as well as, choosing a date that does not coincide with a local event. Be sure to look into the local events being held during the time you are interested in having your wedding ceremony. Local events can cause increased traffic, unwanted interruptions, noise chaos etc. Plan ahead!

Before researching wedding venues create your guest list, even if you’re unsure if everyone will attend this will give you a starting point to determine how much room you will need to accommodate your guests. It’s better to have too much room versus too little. That would be embarrassing! To make things a bit easier on yourself when determining if a venue has enough space to accommodate your guest, allow for 25-30 feet per guest. It may sound like plenty, but, remember there will be tables, waiters, dance floor etc.

Sentimental photos are plentiful at weddings, but, sometimes we forget the objects that hold sentiment. Make a list of the important items and attire that you want photographed as still life imagery, such as, the bride’s wedding dress on a hanger, handwritten vows, and even the something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.
