Nachos originated in 1943 when Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya, a chef at a restaurant in Piedras Negras, Mexico, created the dish for a group of American military wives. Anaya improvised with limited ingredients to make a dish of fried tortilla chips topped with melted cheese and jalapeños, which he named "Nachos Especiales". The dish became popular in Texas and spread across the United States, becoming a staple at parties, sports events, and other gatherings.

Los nachos son un platillo mexicano que se originó en Piedras Negras, Coahuila, en la década de 1940. Ignacio Anaya, el chef del restaurante, creó los nachos de forma accidental para un grupo de esposas de soldados estadounidenses que visitaban el país.
