Back to posting because no amount of bad news will keep me from sharing the amazing people I get to design and sew for!
Matching grey vests and capes are a vibe I will always say yes to!!! Cal's skirt has 3D butterflies, and you can really see the butterflies because they wanted a taupey satin undneath, and I'm such a fan!!! I got the lace from , and it's as amazing as you think. 🤩
The chiffon shirt really added an airy quality to the look, but with that crisp collar, you get a masc-ness that plays so well with the grey vest.
Jake had these amazing eggplanty trousers, and they are so perfect with the grey vest I made! Thank you both for the opportunity to make these looks for you two! Love you both!!
I've got more photos to share, but they were vertical, so I'll share them in another post. I was about to say that there was one in particular you'll love, but then I kept thinking of more photos.
Mad shout out to .robertsphotos on the amazing, super engaging photos!!! I hope my words convey the fact that my jaw is still on the ground. Maybe it's because he does amazing cosplay photography, and I used to cosplay, but seriously!

I haven't shared enough of these two! Crystal in a grey 3-piece suit (and shirt) and Andrea in a 4-ply silk crepe jumpsuit. This fabric is so yummy to wear and it elevates anything it's made into. This is why I talk so much about picking clothes shapes you like (say, like overalls) and I'll take care of the "make it look like I'm actually going to my own wedding" element.

Happy Non-Binary Awareness Week!
As you look thru these images, imagine the inspiration dancing around in my head:
1. jellyfish
2. 18th century menswear

You know I had fun with this, always making sure that each look reflected their interests and preferences, and coordinated in the ways that mattered to them. It did take my head a while to figure out how the jellyfish cape was going to come to life, and I'm pretty sure it was idea to do the horsehair braid and it was inspired! Thanks always for that, Gigi! Edy is also a maker and sews, so they helped me understand different elements they both wanted thru sketches we were passing in class hehe. Once Edy got everything home, they added some more items to the cape epaulettes and I think it added the perfect touch!!

Happy Non-Binary Awareness Week! Today I bring you Aden, the first to bring me the idea of wedding overalls. They weren't sure it was possible, and I think that kind of out of the box thinking, don't do what you're told, march to the beat of your own drum, and fight the patriarchy along the way, thinking that draws me to my clients.

Amores no binarios! My non-binary pals! Wedding overalls are a thing! And Robin is here to prove it! So grateful for them and their family for coming into the studio and bringing all the joy, laughter, and creative energy! Love you all so very much! ❤❤❤

Amores no binarios! Les quiero presentar a une amige Colombiane, who wanted feathers! The inspiration was really fun and I have to thank Jenn who had so much patience with me while I caught up to their vision. But once I did, I got really into these feather epaulettes! I used shoe glue to layer the feathers to the eppaulette base I made. The shoe glue gave it a mobility that I was grateful for so I could shape the shoulders a bit. Who knew shoe glue!
Then, when Jenn came to pick up, they mentioned something about her hispanic family, and I blurted "what kind of hispanic" (if you don't know I'm Colombian, it sounds terrible coming out of my white face lordt) but they just said, Colombian. I'm pretty sure I yelped. It was so lovely to meet another non-binary Colombian in the states.
So, yeah, feathers and Colombian connections!

Hey Non-Binary babes!!! Mis amores no binarios!! This badass is a midwest poet and an all round lovely human. (so is their spouse ❤️ ) I was inspired by an image of a god of writing that had striped and florals on their outfit and I knew that I needed to find something like that in lace form, and I was thrilled that .poet resonated with it and the look was started! The silk pants have a subtle stripe that I imagined was like the many notebooks a writer will have, and how much of their words are so part of them, it's like the words are constantly spiraling around their body. There is inspiration everywhere!!

It's and I'm gonna be showing off some of my non-binary clients. The point is to celebrate the variety that is non-binary. We don't all look the same, want the same wedding look, or all need a cape lol Enjoy!

This white jumpsuit was a collaboration with - they did the embroidery and I made the jumpsuit and we decided on where to put the embroidery together.
This is no easy feat taking on your own wedding look while planning it yourself. They also wanted a custom shirt to surprise Frank but we couldn't find the right something, so Mandi created the art for the shirt, and we sent it to print. The fabric arrived and I got to work.

and on a personal note

In 2022, I had 40 custom clients, plus another dozen wedding dress alterations and suit tailoring, and everyday alterations as well. I ran myself ragged, and tired me isn't good at my job. Zero tenths

Then I had top surgery, and my body didn't like healing from surgery, so 2023 was a slow start. Then my dad died. Then I got shingles. Then, more interpersonal stuff. Big feelings days.

But this spring, the rizz is on the rise, the skies are clearing up, and _________________ (fill in the blank)
