Indy Hula has been asked by multi-Grammy award winning kanaka maoli artist Kalani Pe’a to collaborate for his upcoming concert at the Carmel Center for Performing Arts. The concert will take place on Saturday, Feb 22nd and we are calling all kanaka, Polynesians and lovers of Hawaiian music to come and make his Indiana debut a memorable one! Indy Hula has been asked by multi-Grammy award winning Hawaiian artist Kalani Pe'a to collaborate with him during his upcoming concert at the Carmel Center for Performing Arts on Saturday Feb 22, 2025!

Kalani has asked us to get the word out to all of the kanaka, Polynesians and Hawaiian music lovers in our area, so let's show him some midwestern Aloha and welcome him on his first Indiana performance.

Indy Hula had the privilege of learning from Kumu Robert Cazimero and Kumu Kuana Torres Kahele in Michigan this weekend, which also included being given the opportunity to dance while they sang in an epic concert! It was a weekend to remember.

For spring break, we will not have classes on March 30 or April 6. Classes resume on April 13th at the Philippine Cultural Center at 8 am for Tahitian, 9:45 am for hula. Mahalo!

Our Keiki were treated to guest teachers whose whanau (family) are Māori. They learned some basics of the single short poi and a short song. Nga mihi nui for the knowledge that was passed on to our Keiki ❤️
