Let's keep the good times rolling as our 65 Days of Summer comes to a close with a trip down memory lane. These vintage photos capture the spirit of the 1960s at our old parent store, located at 2401 W Washington Street.

To provide additional context, we reached out to Pat Gillespie, who worked in the building from 1960 to 1978. Pat recalls spending countless hours there, especially after school, during summers, and throughout his time in college. He shared that Franck Zappia was the delivery driver, while his wife, Geneva, worked as a designer.

Two of the designers featured in the photos are Mazie Bender and Maude Shields. Mazie, pictured holding a bridal bouquet, lived in Speedway, just across the street from St. Christopher's School and Church, which the Gillespie family attended. Lucille Buntain is also pictured. Another designer, whose name is not mentioned, was dating Hal, whose brother was a Speedway firefighter at 13th and Lyndhurst.
