Tulip bulbs are in the ground! Every year (thanks to my awesome customers) I get to add more tulips to my crop. This year I’m growing 4,000 of these beauties!
I love tulips for so many reasons but mainly because they are the first flower to bloom in the garden. After a long dark cold winter, those big blooms are a sight for sore eyes! They kick off the local flower season with an explosion of color before the trees have even leafed out. On one hand they are not cheap to grow and a lot of work to plant, harvest, and process. But on the other hand- they bring an abundance of beauty and joy to my life that I get to share with others, and that is priceless.

Terra Cotta sunflowers blooming in mid October?? Yes, Please!! I must have been feeling lucky when I planted on August 15. Not sure how they have escaped multiple frosts, but they are gorgeous with sturdy stems and upright blooms!! A new fall staple for sure!!

Merry Frostmas!
This is natures way of saying “time to get to work before the snow falls!”
Tearing it all out to prep for next season is actually one of my favorite things. It’s so cathartic. Knowing what worked and what didn’t, what I will grow more of and what I may never grow again. Planting spring bulbs to look forward too, and laying fresh compost on those flower beds that have worked so hard all summer. It’s like tucking the garden in for a long winters nap and kissing it good night. 💚

While the garden is winding down I’ve had the pleasure of incorporating other local flowers into our bouquets and buckets of blooms from , , , and . It’s been so fun working with these gorgeous blooms and supporting other local growers. Very thankful for these women with so much passion and talent!

Happy October! As the days get shorter and cooler we know the garden is taking its last breaths of the season. Normally this is kind of a sad time for me as I just love being immersed in all the beauty the garden offers. So this year we decided to keep all the beauty flowing even if we can’t grow the flowers.

I’m so happy to announce we are now providing our floral services YEAR ROUND! 💐

We are excited to design with flowers from all over the country and the world! Local flowers will always be our main gig and top priority. But while we wait for those tulips to chill in the ground before exploding into a field of blooms, I’ll be sourcing responsibly grown flowers from all over to share with you! ❤️
