Hello! 👋
I'm Heather, cake designer at The Velveteen Cake Co. and freelance florist in Iron Mountain Michigan!
While I'm much more comfortable working behind the scenes than on social media - I'm definitely working on that!
So now, I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself - as well as let you all know what I will be offering now that I'm incorporating floral work into my offerings. 🤍
My entire life I've always had a passion for flowers. I had even considered being a florist as a child. Instead, I went into childcare development in hopes of becoming a Kindergarten teacher.
After becoming a mother and having 3 beautiful children of my own, I got into baking instead.
After all of that, I still loved everything floral - and cherished the arrangement's my husband would get me for all the wonderful occasions. But now, I can't seem to get away from floral's. Incorporating them into as many cakes as I could, and even learning how to make gum paste and wafer paper florals - I need more. Gardening, wasn't enough either!
Here's what I'd love to start offering..
- Smaller scale wedding florals - Bouquets, bout's, centerpieces, floral arches and instillations, etc.
- Proposal florals - Let me create a beautiful floral instillation to impact your proposal!
- Custom Crystal wand handle forever bouquets [faux or dried floral's]
- Florals for photo shoots - Bridal, newborn, editorial, bouduir, businesses, and more!
- Subscription arrangement's either monthly or bi-monthly. Each month/offering will be thoughtfully curated with a fun theme in mind whether I find inspiration from a book like Pride & Prejudice, Bridgerton or Beauty and the beast! I love a good theme!
- Larger scale arrangement's for businesses, holiday's, anniversaries & more!
