Spring colors! I love this time of year when we are just starting to see the first blooms popping up! So far I have anemone, muscari, hyacinth and daffodils blooming and my early tulips are sure to be showing color soon! Seeing everything coming to life certainly inspires my

I am working hard on turning my backyard into a big so that I can grow my own flowers for mid to late summer arrangements. First there is a lot of work to be done starting seeds, putting in new beds and coming up with a planting calendar to have blooms throughout as much of the season as possible. I know the more I get put in place this first year, the easier it will be in years to come… I just need to keep reminding my aching back of that! Wish me luck and I will be posting photos throughout the process!

It’s time to order flowers for Christmas!

For the past year and a half, The Flowered Nest has been a side gig for me while I also had a full time job to support myself. Unfortunately I was unjustly terminated from my full time job after 10+ years in September in retaliation for my actions in starting a union. I am fighting to get my job back and it is being handled in arbitration, but it is a long process. That’s the bad news. The good news is that I am able to give The Flowered Nest my full attention this holiday season.

The holiday season for 2023 is getting under way! I have friends that are already putting up Christmas trees… yes, I’m looking at you !!!
When you are doing all of your planning for Thanksgiving, holiday parties, family dinners or just wanting to show love to yourself or someone else just to spread some holiday cheer, don’t forget to include some flowers!
Taking orders now for Thanksgiving flowers that will be available for pick-up or delivery next Wednesday, 11/22 and Thanksgiving morning, 11/23. I have ordered some beautiful flowers in lovely muted shades of peach, faded yellows, soft creams including lots of roses that will look beautiful on your table!
I am also taking orders for future needs as we move towards. Christmas and New Years! Please keep in mind, the earlier you get your order in, the easier it is to make sure I have a lovely selection of blooms on hand! Payment isn’t due until you receive your order!

I came home the other day to find a gift bag hanging on my door and inside was this fun vase from my sweet friend It is hard to see in the photo but the vase is shaped like a book and has a title printed that says “The Mystery of Growth - A Book About Flowers” on it! Flower fun and awesome friends make every day brighter!
