• Traditional Korean Drumming Club at UCI [Poongmul/풍물]
• est. 2002 Hansori at UCI was formed in 2002 by four former students.

Inspired by Kim Duk Soo’s Samulnori performance at the Barclay Theater, Hansori was created to spread Korean cultural awareness at UC Irvine. The organization strives to preserve traditional Korean culture through the practice of traditional Korean drumming, known as Poongmul. Hansori is an organization through which students can come to learn more about Korean heritage and traditional culture whi

le promoting cultural awareness to the University community and the Southern California community at large.

Celebrate our new mural: A MOMENTOUS MOMENT IN TIME OF PASSAGE AND LANDING
Saturday, May 18th, 2024 | 1:00 - 5:00 pm

Join us for a vibrant celebration in honor of AAPI Heritage Month and the official celebration of our new mural, A Momentous Moment in Time of Passage and Landing, created by artist Dave Young Kim.

Enjoy cultural dances with Rangeela Dance, Nanisha Lau and [한소리] Hansori: Korean Cultural Awareness Group at UCI, performance by Katherine Ho, crafts, food trucks, and an insightful artist talk with Dave Kim.
