• est. 2002 Hansori at UCI was formed in 2002 by four former students.

Inspired by Kim Duk Soo’s Samulnori performance at the Barclay Theater, Hansori was created to spread Korean cultural awareness at UC Irvine. The organization strives to preserve traditional Korean culture through the practice of traditional Korean drumming, known as Poongmul. Hansori is an organization through which students can come to learn more about Korean heritage and traditional culture whi

le promoting cultural awareness to the University community and the Southern California community at large.

Hansori: Korean Cultural Awareness Group at UC Irvine was formed in 2002 by four former students.
