Sometimes I forget that I love people. I love my alone time and peace and I still enjoy just focusing on what is right in front of me but there’s a lot of really good people out there. People who are kind and funny and contagious with the love they give. I call those people sunshiny🌞people. Drama doesn’t touch them. Laughter and hugs do. I’m so grateful to be reminded of that this month. With , I definitely think she’s a sunshine person. We share a love for color and art and I wanted to take a portrait of her that shows her SHE is the art🤰. (Minus the fact that the sun is hiding here 🤪).

This session comes from my heart. Personally, I’m losing my grandma to the cruel disease of Alzheimer’s and I can’t do a lot of things for her so it resulted in a lot of guilt and failure. Played with photoshop’s generative fill and while I can appreciate ai as a tool… it def also makes my brain itch. It’s scary, fun, and frustrating. Scary because it changes our perception of reality and what people can do with it. Fun because you can create something from your imagination… and frustrating when you can’t. So I think I’m probably better off daydreaming instead of entering prompts for hours haha. Neither of these are perfect or realistic which I’d be curious to see who thought this was a real background but swipe to see the original!

Ps. Adobe sources from public domain etc which is more ethical than midjourney which I don’t plan to use anytime soon.

It’s nice to have memories of you and your home that you’ve built and made a life in. I think it’s why lifestyle sessions are really cool! A normal staircase might not be “cool” but it’s your stairs that you run up and down everyday, this is your kitchen you cook breakfast at, here’s your tv you watch with your family… it’s all memories that’s unique to you. Then once you move it’s all a new chapter. Different perspective on family sessions. 🥰

I know I’m not alone here. I’ve been super stressed out lately and I’ve always known how to hide and bottle it up. I’ll be the first to admit that’s not healthy haha. If you saw me petting bunnies like I got nothing to do, it’s literally my salvation. So here’s a reminder that social media isn’t a representation of somebody’s life. Never judge somebody by what they choose to post. In reality people are a lot different. Maybe somebody who’s on it nonstop and posting their schedule daily but even then it’s still curated. 😕 You’re never going to witness what is truly behind the scenes.

Every day there’s something to remind me how lucky I am but you know being grateful won’t solve all your problems. It’s just the tip of the iceberg. So… you know what, keep going, you have a purpose, there’s many reasons to get out bed… and many don’t even have the option!

Tomorrow I’m heading to Colorado and today I’m at the DMV. What to pack? It’s literally all three seasons. 30-80degrees. 😂 Snow Rain Sun.

I’m a homebody. Home is where the heart is. So these in home lifestyle sessions really are something else. Your pets and kids can feel safe and you don’t have to chase them around. There’s no strive for perfection in where you place your chairs. Every part of the house is a part of you because one day, you might move, your children might leave to college, you may have an empty nest… well you get the picture. I love all of these photos SO MUCH but can you guess my favorite pic??? 😁

If you’re wondering if you should wear pink at your wedding, you should definitely just do it.

Love the phone in the pocket of my pollen dirtied butt 🤦🏻‍♀️ Pro Tip: if you ever get pollen on your clothes, just vacuum it up. Don’t have to wash it or risk staining. Vacuum first!

I think it’s been day… 3 of sunny days in June (and May) and I’m currently sporting a sunburn. I haven’t had one in ages and gosh this was so dumb of me! Haha just a walk around the neighborhood and boom! Getting sunburn just once every two years can triple your risk of melanoma skin cancer, compared to never being burnt. I already racked up too much burns during my drum Corp days (despite using loads on sun screen, I despise the smell sun screen) so now I’m challenging myself to not get burnt…. Ever again 😂

Ps. If you’ve had one blistering sunburn in your childhood, it doubles your chance of melanoma later on. Check for spots and apply sunscreen correctly. It takes 15-30 min before it takes effect so best to apply earlier than later!

I can’t explain it but you just need to feel it. It’s about being present. Being in front of the camera is awkward sometimes but truth is you just need to stop thinking and start feeling… or BEING. 😉 I’ll go into it farther later. always embodies that magnetic energy that allows me to go with her flow and be creative. As a photographer you also need to know how to capture it and watch for the golden moments in every piece of movement. It’s always a team effort🫶🏼
