DFW Mid-Cities Bluegrass Jam Friends meeting to pick and sing bluegrass music together in the DFW Mid-Cities area. Our jamming circle varies in size week to week.

CURRENTLY ON HOLD DUE TO COVID PANDEMIC AND CHURCH FACILITY NEEDS A weekly BLUEGRASS jam that meets in the Randle Hall of Kirkwood United Methodist Church in Irving, Texas (enter the parking lot from Story Rd, not 5th Street) every Thursday night at 7pm. Hosts of this jam are Rick Caudill, Darwin Slaughter, Kirk Green, Jim Penson...
History: A group of Bluegrass pickers in the Dallas/Fort

Worth Mid-Cities began meeting together in 2005, hosting jams in their homes and were eventually offered space to meet in a local church building. Sometimes it's a small 8 pickers, sometimes it's up to 20+. There are extra rooms available for multiple jam circles as well. We welcome all pickers/singers/listeners and usually have a pot of coffee going too.

I'm planning on restarting the Thursday night jam at New World United Methodist Church in north Arlington. I have access to the education wing and a couple of good rooms for jamming.
The address is 2201 North Davis Drive, Arlington 76012.
Stay tuned for developments. I'll post on here when this plan firms up. Thanks!
Jim Penson

Please post any questions. I'm guessing it will probably be 7 - 9 PM, but will know more about it later.
