We can NO LONGER ACCEPT ORDERS for Penn Trafford AND Norwin homecoming. We are at capacity. We always suggest you reserve your spot as soon as you find out when it is. Unfortunately, two schools have it on the same day and we can only fill so many orders.

Little Miss Addy stopped by today to visit her Mimi! She entertained her Great Aunt Darlene and Michele. Eric was out so we decided to put her to work in his place. Let’s just say she lacks a few necessary skills. A for effort though! She could not write a check, issue payroll or count money and let’s just say the phone skills were seriously lacking. She did however sit for a pic on Mr. Belak’s bench outside (Michele bribed her with a pretzel rod but that’s okay). Addy wants to remind everyone to get your MOTHER’S DAY orders in soon! AND DON’T FORGET GRANDMA!

It’s Spring! Celebrate with flowers! We have a variety of options for the season and for Easter. Many of the area schools have musicals now. Presentation wraps (flowers wrapped with a bow) or a custom arrangement (as the icecream sundae for the Grease musical) are available. We have designs such as a crystal cross for Easter or the speckled egg arrangement. We have lots of fun choices for spring! Call or stop by! Please note that we are limited on some items…when they are gone they are gone.

Another National Bloomnation award! What’s so special about it??? It’s not a voting contest. It’s actual customers that order via on line through our Teleflora site. We have no control over their rating or feedback. It’s 100 percent customer based by actual customers! We love our customers!

Today this gem popped up and we decided to call Flowers by Nora. They are a third party fulfillment center based out of New Jersey. Their web site says they are a small town florist family owned in business for over 25 years. They make it sound as if they are located in Irwin. That is misleading. We are the only family owned floral business in Irwin in excess of 25 years (more like 64). When we called we asked where their store was located and we received the story that they haven’t officially opened in Irwin but they can still have flowers sent. We asked how that could be if they claim to have been in business for over 25 years and are sending from a local florist. Again we received the song and dance telling us the doors aren’t open to the public. How can “she” pay attention to detail if she’s in New Jersey but delivering to Irwin??? It’s very important to call your florist directly. Ask where their brick and mortar store is located and ask if you can stop in to look around. Many of what you see on the internet is fulfillment centers. They will up charge, over charge and make promises that won’t be kept. Know who you are buying from! UPDATE! See the last pic! It was posted by the real florist in Philadelphia.

Another employee family wedding in the books! The second in just a few months for this family! Employees (and sister-in-laws) Darlene (secretary) and Beth (designer )celebrated the marriage of Darlene’s mom when she married her long time boyfriend. Yes, they are a “little” older than most of our wedding couples but this just proves you are never too old to find true love! Darlene served as matron of honor, her sons walked her down the aisle, Beth worked on the flowers and escorted the flower girl (her grand baby, Darlene’s great niece) down the aisle and the grooms son was best man. They’re just wondering who is next ??? (Ceremony and reception were at Antonelli Event Center)

We’ve been pretty busy lately! This past week one of our designers, Beth, was in full wedding mode. She spent days working on her daughters wedding. What makes this extra special is that our secretary, Darlene, is also her sister-in-law and the brides aunt! You can imagine what was going on around here! Stratigos in North Huntingdon was the location and a beautiful backdrop for soft and romantic floral designs and bouquets. A twist on a traditional centerpiece was incorporating a wine chiller for a bottle of wine to toast the new couple. You may recognize some of the young ladies in the bridal party from the local area (Penn Trafford, Norwin and Greensburg). Beth had her daughters blessing to make whatever she wanted…this is what happens when you let the designer choose…

An original wedding song…”It’s raining on our wedding day.” Nunny (Marycaline) stopped in to visit her granddaughter (our designer Kelly). Nunny has many talents, one of which is composing and singing her own songs. At almost 85 she’s still making us all smile!
