There is still time to get in on a harvest before we finish for the season!

Stone Lion Winery and Events is inviting you to come experience grape harvesting. It's super fun and a great way to experience the natural beauty of the vineyards while sharing awesome conversations with your friends!

On 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 we will harvest in two groups. You can choose which group you would like to join or both if you like!

Morning harvest is from 8:00 am until noon. Afternoon harvest is from 1:00 pm until we finish. We don't expect the afternoon harvest to go until 4:00 pm but it may.

After each group stops harvest we will adjourn to our wedding venue tent for a hot meal and you can can taste a number of different wines. Then choose your favorite to talk a free bottle home!

Stone Lion Winery and Events is seeking help for fall wedding set-ups. This is part time seasonal work between August 12 and October 29th and is primarily on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Number of hours per day varies between about 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

If you do not have good availability for every Friday, Saturday and Sunday please do not apply. We can somewhat work around your schedule but for the most part we need people who are very available for those days.

You must be at least 14 years old, dependable and able to follow instructions. Candidates will be interviewed in person.

General responsibilities include:

1) Setting up and taking down chairs.
2) Wiping off tables and chairs if it rains,
3) Assisting with parking guests.
4) Sweeping and other general tasks.

Starting pay is $12 per hour.

Help Wanted. Stone Lion Winery and Events - located 2 miles north of St Francis High School

We are looking to hire summer help April through October. Must be at least 15 years of age. Approximately 20 - 30 hours a week. Week days as well as weekends. We can work with your schedule but most Saturdays we need help.

Duties include: Vineyard help, yard work, help with events (setting up chairs, etc.) and other types of work.

All work is outside. Must be flexible and have good work ethics and able to lift up to 50 pounds. Pay is $10/hr to start.

Loved how the harvest tables and the black linens (round tables) looked at the reception last weekend! The couple were over the top thrilled with their reception which made it a lot of fun for us!

We just finished the last 2 harvest tables, varnished 2 more wine barrels and are adding more outdoor chairs for the patio overlooking the vineyards! We will get photos from the reception this Saturday. Busy season!

We just finished putting on the lights inside the tent and today the tent is going to get its full draping!

I just got off the phone with the Governor's office. On May 20th I reached out to the Governor, and to a number of other contacts in the government, with a proposal to coordinate a task force comprised of multiple wedding venues - to develop a plan for allowing receptions by August 1st. We are currently able to have ceremonies of up to 250 people.

Outdoor venues such as ours, on large acreages, are uniquely positioned to be able have events such as a reception and to be able to have the social distancing to keep everyone safe.

My call to the Governor's office was to follow up on that proposal.

I've been on our Township board (the township equivalent of a CIty Council) for 8 years. During that time I've worked on a lot of task forces such as one that is working on the Highway 65 Corridor/traffic issues and currently I'm on the County Broadband task force.

I'm optimistic that getting the right people involved we'll make good progress towards our plan of having larger receptions by August 1st.

I'll post updates as I have them to share.
