In a galaxy far, far away, universes collide and Strictly Social partners with Dancesport to present our next event: Celestial Bodies! 🪐✨🌌☄️

Come enjoy a night of dancing where YOU are the star 🌟 Inspired by all things astronomical 🔭, astrological ♈️, and mythological 🧚‍♀️, come dressed in your celestial best ✨

Join us for a night of social dancing at the Hub 💃🌌🕺 where we will be playing WCS and Fusion music with ballroom undertones. 🎶

Strictly Social is excited to have come back to teach another set of Beginner and Intermediate WCS. Learn to incorporate ballroom styling with basic WCS moves. We also have and teaching Ballroom Fusion. Lessons will start at 7pm sharp!

Whether you dance WCS, Fusion, or any type of Ballroom, all levels are welcome and encouraged 🤗 Strictly Social will be posting our DJ set with recommended dances so keep an eye out for that! 👀 (Ex. WCS / Chacha, Fusion / V Waltz)

Our first competition of the year, the Claremont Intercollegiate Showdown, was a blast!
UCSB’s team performed amazingly in a variety of events, including 1st place ribbons in events from the Smooth, Standard, Rhythm, Latin, AND Nightclub sections. And of course—2nd place in Team Match! We were so excited to be joined by some of our newest members, while also getting to see how much our returning members have improved. Enjoy these highlights! (And remember there are more competitions to come in the winter & spring!)

Hi everyone! All of our weekly events are continuing this week. Remember that for the Ballroom classes, you do need to be registered for the quarter through GauchoRec. However, you can drop in to the Thursday West Coast Swing Lessons and/or Open Practice for free whenever you'd like, and those are open to all students, alumni, and community members!

Hope you enjoyed the highlights from our last post... here's the weekly announcements!
Continuing this week are lessons, open practice, office hours,
and weekly Latin dance lessons taught by Dancesport alumni Nicholas.
This Friday, come join us at Rockfire Grill for team dinner! Look out for a post soon with more info.
On Saturday is hosting their annual Halloween dance, so we're excited to dress up and join them for performances, lessons, and social dancing!
Lastly, our first competition is happening in less than a month! Check the discord or our weekly email for more information, and feel free to ask questions!

Our annual fall dance event, Big Top Ball, is approaching! This circus-themed extravaganza will include food, performances, mini-lessons, and a night full of social dancing.
This is a FREE event open to all students and community members. All levels of dancers are encouraged to attend— beginners are most definitely welcome!
And don't forget to come dressed in your best circus-themed attire! Think bright colors, animal prints, sequins & sparkles, performers & clowns… 🎪🎠🎡🤹‍♂️🍿

Here's the schedule for this week! Remember that the link to register for the ballroom classes is in our bio, but no registration is required for the west coast swing lessons.
For those new to the club, everyone is welcome to join us on the dance floor at open practice! This is a great chance to practice new moves from class and learn from fellow members.
Lastly, office hours are starting this week! The club's President and Vice President will be available during this time to answer any questions you have about the club or just to hang out and chat!

We are excited to announce that our Fall Showcase will be at 6pm on Friday 9/30 at Anisqoyo Park's amphitheater in Isla Vista. The event will include a short beginner lesson (no experience or partner needed!), a few fun performances, and a chance to chat with members and officers. This is a great way to find out what the club is all about, or just have a fun time learning something new! (And it's free!) We hope to see you there, and feel free to DM us with any questions 😁
