We are located in southern Utah and currently serve the cities of St. George, Santa Clara, Ivins, and Washington. We will also travel to Hurricane for an additional $20 travel fee. I was able to rehome this cool dude today. It's bittersweet to say goodbye, but he will be so much happier in his new home than he would have been with me...and that's what reptile rescue and adoption is all about. ♥️♥️

This guy (or girl, we haven't bothered them to check yet) was dropped off to us as an emergency drop off. His human parents had to move quickly and couldn't take him. We'd love to keep him, but we'd also love to get him to someone who could really care for him properly ASAP. He is a Savannah Monitor and not for a beginner. They need space, interaction, and time.....but most importantly they need proper care and LOVE.

If you're interested in adopting him please contact me. He comes with his enclosure which is 36 inches wide, 48 inches long, and 27 inches tall.

Is there anything about keeping the animals that you don't like?

Yes, yes there is......

I do NOT like mice or rats. 😩 I have become fine with getting the mice out, but the rats will take me a while.

I would choose cleaning p**p all day, 7 days a week, over pulling that rat out of the freezer once every week and a half. 🤣🤣

In case you think keeping your sulcata in the bathroom on cold nights is a good idea.....

This is NOT my house or my tort, but sulcatas are seriously strong animals!! 🐢♥️ 🤣 No joke, as they get bigger they will happily plow through anything in their way.

I do, however, now have a good idea for the next time we do any demo on our house ....🤣

Just a few of my beautiful snake friends. ♥️🐍 Bruno, Charlotte, Franklin, and Cherry Pie were all out exploring today. Feeding day isn't for a couple more days ladies and gentlemen so you'll just have to wait.

Don't tell anyone but Pensy and Cola are my two favorite water turtles. They're from different worlds, but are the best of friends. In fact, even though Cola could handle being outdoors for the winter here we have to bring them both in or they will keep looking for each other until they're together again. ♥️

As we wrap up the year I just want to say THANK YOU for your support. ♥️♥️ I couldn't do this without the encouragement, donations (whether that's time helping with the animals/parties, monetary, or supply wise), and love you have for these amazing animals!!

It was a wonderful year for Leaping Lizards.

I exceeded my event goals by 3 times.....almost quadrupling events in my second year of this rescue/business from the first year. I have absolutely loved being a part of your birthday parties, family reunions, corporate picnics and events, and schools. I am honored you want to spend your time with me and my reptile babies!!!

I started the YouTube channel and my goal of 1,000 subscribers by December 31st was blown out of the water. I just hit over 20,000!! What?!?! 😯

I was able to welcome in 14 new reptile family members this year. From lizards to snakes, water turtles and tortoises...even a box turtle. ♥️♥️ I am learning and growing with these animals all the time. I am building such a cool little thing that I love so much.

I lost a couple scaly friends -Buster, George, and Gordon- but that's the hard part of reptile rescues. We give each of them a burial beneath a bush or plant outside and if anyone ever digs up out backyard they'll wonder what in the world happened here. ♥️ They all have their place in my heart and in my yard.

I've got big things planned this year and can't wait to see you!!! ♥️

We welcomed a new surrender today. This is Charlotte! She is an amazing ball python, and I am so lucky to have her!! What a great Christmas gift. ♥️🐍

A couple months ago I lost my first snake. Gordon, along with his brother Franklin, were the first two snakes I owned. Franklin has always been more shy but Gordon was ready for every party and every kid that came along. He loved being out and exploring the world. He was the sweetest boy who was a lot of people's first introduction to seeing/touching/handling a snake close up. He was the perfect ambassador.

I haven't talked about it, and I haven't been able to clean out his tank. I knew it would be hard, but I figured I've had a rough couple days anyway so today would be as good a day as any to do it. 💔💔💔 Just pile on the sad and know things will get brighter soon.

I cleaned all 7 of our snake tanks and gave everyone a little love (and a big mouse). I know there will be another snake needing a home that will fill Gordon's tank sometime soon, but he will certainly never be replaced in my ♥️

People don't understand reptiles are members of the family as well, and I certainly grieve them all. In retrospect, running a rescue may not have been the best idea for someone like myself. 🤣🥰

Gordon, thank you for being the sweetest snake. I am grateful you existed in my world. ♥️🐍

Tortoise soak day!!

Although 7 of our 11 tortoises (plus one three toed box turtle) are brumating, the reptilian form of hibernation, they still all get an end of fall soak. It helps me make sure that they are hydrated here in the dry desert and that they are still all looking healthy during their winter sleep.

The gang is all here, happy, healthy, and a bit sleepier than normal. 🤣♥️

I sure love you Mini, Ruby, Rosie, Lovey, Leo, Perseus, Dori, Olive, Dante, Diego, Dmitri, and Mr. T!!!

I know haven't been around much. I'll be back soon. ;) It's been a busy holiday season and the animals are mostly enjoying some good sleep and down time in this colder weather. Parties have slowed down, and we are all just hanging out staying warm together this last couple weeks of 2024. ♥️♥️

How do snakes p**p? It is a question I get a lot. Luckily for Bonnie and her friends today they all got to find out. Cherry Pie p**ped all over my pants and shoe....and on the blanket I so carefully ALWAYS lay out as to not destroy your carpets. 🤣🤣♥️♥️ It's fine, Cherry Pie, these shoes needed washed anyway. 🐍

Wildlife makes me happy. ♥️ This little horned lizard was the smallest one I have ever seen. I wanted to squeeze his little face.....but I somehow resisted the urge. 🤣🤣🦎

If you have top opening enclosures always check to make sure there isn't a snake up there before opening it. 🤣🤣 Luckily Bruno's here is a front opener. He was ready for lunch. ♥️🐍 #fancymilksnake
