Apostle Paul's letter to the church at Corinth. This is near the closing of the first letter.

Paul needed to give the church exhortation. The church had some issues. Self centered, arrogant and division was found in the church. The work this church does should always be done in love.

Watch ye, standfast in the faith • Paul telling the church to "Wake up!" Keep your eyes open. Don't be slothful. Satan is waiting for the opportunity to divide them. Watch for false teachers. Don't be spiritually lazy working for the Lord. A quick reminder from Apostle Peter. 👉 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

Be courageous, Be strong • We are soldiers in the army of the Lord. 👉 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Ephesians 6:10.

Satan wants the followers of Christ to just go with the flow of this world's system. We are in this world, but of this world. We are to share the good news so mankind and be saved, gain eternal life, make disciples so others can receive the gospel.

Jesus is teaching the disciples the Kingdom values during the Sermon on the Mount.

13) Christ calls the Christians the Salt of the Earth. Salt gives flavor to foods. Salt preserves meats when our forefathers didn't have freezers to prevent decaying. Salt was also use to cleanse wounds. The world is decaying. We as believers should be salt to this world so they can be preserved. Giving them gospel so that can receive eternal life in Christ

14-16) Ye are the light of the world • The world is a dark place. Darkness can't comprehend the light if Christ. 👉 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:4‭-‬5 NASB1995

When Christ was on the earth he was the light. He expects us to continue to let our light since for his glory until he returns. 👉 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

Christ light shines in us. We are not to hide our light. The people we interact with daily should see the light of Christ in us and good works. Good works is a righteous and biblically authorized that is beneficial to others and for which God gets the credit.

Be salt and light to this decaying world. God is dependening on us.

Happy Wednesday! • As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. Psalm 42:1 NASB1995 📖

The book of Psalm consist of 150 poems divided into five book. Book 1 is 1-41, Book 2 is 42-72, Book 3 is 73-89, Book 4 is 90-106 and Book 5 is 107-150.

The Hebrew title is: To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of the sons of Korah. The sons of Korah were Levites, from the family of Kohath. See 2 Chronicles 20:19.

Psalm 42 is the beginning of Book Two of Psalm. The psalmist said his soul needed God like the deer pants for water. He had a deep need for God (v.1)

v.2 • The psalmist soul only thrist for the living God. Not Baal. Not Moloch. These false gods are dead. Only the true and living can give the psalmist deliverance.

v.3-5 • The psalmist experienced so many tears, he describes it that it has been his food daily. He's been taunted by others, where is your God? (3)

(4) He reminisces the time he was having joyous fellowship with others in the house of God.

(5) The psalmist challenged his soul. Why are you dejected? Why are you in so much turmoil?

He decided to put his hope in God and Praise Him.

Verse 6-11. The psalmist acknowledged that he's deeply depressed. He's keeping crying to God. He never God will send his faithful love by day and his at night. (V.8)

The psalmist felt like God, his rock had left him. He's dealing with sorrow due the oppression of his enemies. (v.9)

His enemies are taunting him so bad if feels like his bones are crushing and being constantly ask, "Where is your God?" His enemies are really pouring it on him. (v.10)

The psalmist repeats the same challenge to his soul and gave himself the answer for his troubles. 👉 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

Closing: As a follower of Christ, there's nothing you're going through that God can't handle. Put your hope in the living God.

Happy Tuesday! • We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 NASB1995 📖

Apostle John's letter in 1 John, his goal is the believers [little children] have a close, intimate relationship with God.

*We didn't automatically love God when we were born. 👉 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5

God knew us before we knew ourselves. 👉 Upon You I was cast from birth; You have been my God from my mother’s womb. Psalm 22:10

You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother’s womb; My praise is continually of You. Psalm 71:6

You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13

God loves us unconditionally when we were sinners. 👉 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16‭-‬17 👇

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God loved us while we were his enemy. 👇
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:10

God is the foundation of love. When we confess Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we love Him. We love what He loves. Love the Lord God with all your heart. [Matthew 23:37]. We should love one another. John 13:34. Love your neighbor as yourself. [Matthew 23:39]. Love your enemies. [Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:35].

Closing: God loved us first before we even loved Him. He knew us even before we were conceived. He loves us before the world was created. Our love for God came only after we put our trust (faith) in Christ and agreed with God that we're sinners, we need Christ as over Savior and believe in His finish work. He put Agape Love in us when we place our faith in Him.
