TODAY IN MASONIC HISTORY (9/26/1872): The Shriners began with the first official meeting at Mecca Temple, now known as Mecca Shriners, in New York.

Some Shriners believe the organization can be traced to an ancient crime-watch group, not realizing that, in actuality, the organization was merely set-up for the sake of "fun and fellowship." In fact, the group’s lengthy name, "Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine" was chosen specifically to fill out the initials AAONMS that serve as an anagram for "A MASON."

Despite the "fun" objective, Shriners International has become the most charitable institution ever spawned in the history of organized Freemasonry, providing medical care to children around the world.

Thank you to all who were able to attend the 2024 Wahabi Potentate Ball celebrating Illustrious Sir Ferrell Spicer and Lady Christy as well as the Divan and their Ladies. Fantastic meal, great band, and outstanding fellowship. Thank you to Good Ole Days Museum for loaning us the 1925 Model T Sedan.

Nobles and Friends,

We are so sorry to inform you of the unexpected death of Lawson Metz. In Judaism a loved one is buried 24 hours after they pass. The funeral will be tomorrow. When we have more information we will send it to you. Please keep Kay and the Metz family in your prayers.

Kay and I had a great time in Reno this last week. We shared a memorable time with our friends that are also officers of Wahabi Shrine in Jackson. As a group we were able to go to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Sacramento. The Kids are amazing. The Dr’s and the entire Staff are fantastic. Our group rented a van and we went to the National Automobile Association, Lake Tahoe, lunch,dinner and so much more. Many thanks to our Potentate Ferrell Spicer and his Lady Christy. James Teeters and his Lady Pat. William Sistrunk and his Lady Charlla and my Lady Kay. Y’all will never know how much Kay and I appreciate the great time that we spent with you. The memories will always be special.
