Update on the Commissary / Shared Use Commerical Kitchen: all the fun with renovations. Currently waiting on soil analysis report for guidelines of installation of septic tank, since we are in the county. New floors, poured and lots of demo and reframing done.
Replacing the garage door with wall, window, and new door.
We will keep trucking along.
We look forward to getting this kitchen open to our community so entrepreneurs have an awesome place to create there food products❤️

So it begins!
Somewhat long story.
This year, mid-year, we applied for a grant through MASBDA called a SEGA grant. This was the first time for this grant. (SEGA) Show-Me Entrepreneurial Grants for Agriculture program is to help farmers, small businesses and higher education institutions add value to agricultural products in Missouri.
There was a HUGE turnout that was more than expected.
We were notified in July (I believe), that we did not get it. So we put those plans to the side to regroup.... over a quarter million dollar project.

Fast forward to Sept, Altenburg Fair Friday. I got a call from MASBDA saying that they were allocated more money for the SEGA grant and that we were 1 of the handful that got it in the 2nd round!

We got our plans out and started the rest of the background work to be able to except the grant.

So this week.... we officially started the project.
The back part of the Red Barn, which has not been finished out, will become a Shared Use Kitchen!

What is the concept of a shared kitchen?
Shared kitchens are licensed commercial spaces that provide a pathway for agriculture food growers and food entrepreneurs—ranging from chefs, caterers, food truck operators, and bakers, to value-added producers and packaged food and beverage makers—to launch and grow their businesses.
So in essence, you rent our commerical kitchen. This allows entrepreneurs to do more products than they legally can do out of home kitchens and the ability to produce on a larger scale.

Needless to say we are still a long ways from finished.
I look forward to bringing you pictures of our progress.

To all our Venue renters over the next several months, This project will not hender your party rentals. None of the upgrades are to current finished part of the building.

Thank you to the Stanley family for hosting a baby shower here yesterday.

Now on to decorating for Christmas 🎄 My little elf is enjoying looking at all the antique ornaments and decor from YEARS past.
My theme for decorating is "Christmas from Yester Year"
AND of course have to have my grandpa's handmade wood train❤️

The Red Barn turned into the North Pole today for Santa Shoot with Cynde Sharrock of Sharrock Photography!
Loved watching the patience this photographer had with reluctant little ones❤️
Glad everyone had fun!!

We have reopened the Landgraf's Red Barn Venue for the fall and winter holiday season!
Currently have tables and chairs for 60. Perfect for the larger family get together, corporate parties, holiday get together, bridal & baby showers, and small weddings.
