This day 19 years ago I woke up to a phone call telling us my dad had just been killed. Gunned down and shot 10 times in front of his home. I was only 10 years old. The impact of losing a parent is hard but to senseless gun violence the pain is unimaginable. Graduating high school was a struggle due to grief so even being accepted into college was a HUGE accomplishment .

That being said, I Am The Prize, Inc. will be supporting a high school senior that has suffered the loss of a parent due to gun violence! This $500 scholarship will go towards books for fall 2024! Deadline to apply July 31, 2024.
