In the late 1800’s, a new method to power streetcars ushered Florida’s First Coast cities into the modern era. With almost 60 miles of track, the Jacksonville Traction Company was the largest streetcar system in Florida. Evidence of this expansive system can still be seen today throughout the Phoenix Arts and Innovation District. In L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the Emerald City represents the place where dreams and hopes could be fulfilled. Here in Jacksonville, the Emerald Trail represents miles of connected greenways and parks. The Emerald Station is where both of these visions come together.

We’re excited to share some sneak peeks inside the Emerald Station, and can’t wait to open to the public very soon.
