We found this treasure…. Based on info I have gathered (please feel free to correct me 😬. )

The photo was taken in 1971 or 1972 at the Tennessee Association of Fairs convention.

Pictured are David Crooks, Fentress Co Fair - assistant secretary/treasurer; Wilson Sparks TAF President; Teresa Williams, Fairest of the Fair and Rupert Blair Fentress County Fair Secretary/Treasurer.

I believe they are receiving a Champion Fair trophy.

Next year we will be celebrating 100 years of Fentress County Fair.

Found this treasure in Mrs Sue Crooks archives. The fair was 40 years old. Fair week was August 24-29. In what we have been seeing this was the first fair to be completed during the month of August. Most had been in September until this point.

Love that it features the 1963 Fairest of the Fair Miss Rhonda Carnahan on the cover as well as the carnival James H Drew Shows.

Can you share any info regarding the listed directors, officers or department superintendents? Would love any history you can share.
