Summer vacations, holidays, travel - it's all good. But don't forget to take time to do something creative this summer. Whether it's writing a story, painting a picture, cooking a new dish, designing something online, or redecorating your house - it's important to use those creative juices. Don't just be entertained. Do the entertaining! And after summer comes to a close, perhaps you'll get the itch to be a part of some great creative shows coming up this fall at the Scharmann Theatre.

A clean, pristine stage. But there's something unsettling about covering up the scuff marks of a stage. The live stage represents humanity in all its glory and all its ugliness. We may cover up our faults, but they are still there, as they should be, reminding us of where we've come from. For today, I'll enjoy the clean-looking stage, but I'm most eager for our new actors and performers to mar it with creative performances, which make us reflect upon our own humanity. That's why I have chosen Decadal: The Descent from Glory (October 4-5) and Tales of Wonder (December 4-8) as the first two shows this fall in our 24-25 season. I think these will give us wonderful opportunities to explore the messiness and unexpected exhilaration of life. I can't wait to see the marks of our creativity all over the Scharmann stage.
