𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙁𝙐𝙇𝙇 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙪𝙣 - it's time for the 42nd Annual Georgia Marble Festival!

The Georgia Marble Festival presented by the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center will be Saturday and Sunday 10-5-24 and 10-6-24 and will be located in Lee Newton Park. There will be a Kid's Zone, arts and crafts, live music, and lots of tasty food and beverages to be had, all in support of the importance of marble in Pickens County! Please use caution when traveling on SR 53/W Church Street in the vicinity of Lee Newton Park on Saturday and Sunday as Quarry Tours will be leaving from the park on a regular schedule throughout the day.

𝗢𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟱𝘁𝗵 - Main Street between Mark Whitfield Street at the north end and Little Avenue at the south end will be impacted by the parade and the Jasper United Methodist Church Marble Fest 5K and Fun Run 🏃‍♀️🏃:

*Closures will start on Main Street between Mark Whitfield Street and Spring Street at 𝟲:𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠 - please have all vehicles off of Main Street before 6:00AM on Saturday.

*The 5K will start at 𝟴:𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠 near The Old Jail and will head south on Main Street down to Little Avenue. The 5K will end on Appalachian Trail.
*The 1-mile Fun Run will start at 𝟵:𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠 down S Main Street.
*The parade** will start immediately following the completion of the races at 𝟭𝟬:𝟬𝟬𝗔𝗠 - parade staging is along Stegall Drive, then will turn left on Mark Whitfield Street, right onto DB Carrol Street, and then turns right again at the new restroom building (which will be open - hooray! 🚽🧻) onto Main Street.

SR 53/W Church Street will close temporarily for the 5K race to cross through and will then re-open. It will close again temporarily for the parade to pass through and will then re-open.
