I am currently cutting + prepping my last wedding flowers for the year, my last wedding flowers for South 22, and maybe even my last wedding flowers forever.
This has me reflecting on all of the years that I have been in this business; and all of the brides, grooms, moms, dads and families that I have met. They all hold a special place in my heart and I always remember them.
But, inevitably, this weekend is my last wedding + then retirement is here. It is bittersweet, for sure. I am sure I will miss the hustle + bustle of planning weddings, doing flowers, running around like crazy trying to beat the timeline, and making special days perfect. However, what I will not miss is the time away from my family, the missed ball games, the missed travel opportunities, + the lack of relaxing weekends.
I have had so many amazing workers during my time in the wedding industry and have made so many connections that I will cherish forever (so many more than what are pictured); but the time has come to hang my hat. So, here’s to many relaxing weekends with my family and friends, + sleeping in on Saturdays.
It’s been a long road, but a good road!
