Lughnasadh is both the last of the summer festivals and the first of the autumn festivals. It marks the half-way point between the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox. As one of the Celtic Fire Festivals, our ancestors celebrated the first harvest with joy and also trepidation as they knew that the cold times of winter were approaching. Volunteers needed tomorrow!

Join us in our efforts to restore the forest along the Ashokan Rail Trail on Saturday, June 29 from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

The Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership (CRISP) has successfully removed invasive plants from an area heavily impacted by the Emerald Ash Borer, and now we need your help to plant native trees that will provide wildlife habitat and protect water quality.

An orientation, basic training on equipment use, and invasive species identification will be provided by CRISP staff.

Another incredible day! Folks here must have shifted thousands of pounds of rocks. The grove direction markers are mostly finished and the moon gate (an upcycled trampoline frame!) into the Sacred Grove is ready to begin supporting climbing plants and vines. Piles of rocks were collected and moved to the Tea Garden and construction of dead hedges has begun.
