We’re reaching back almost 100 years to 1925! Dr. J. C. Bennett’s 3 adult children and their friends started a band, The Jefferson Serenaders. 🎺🎷🎼

Members were: J. C. Bennett Jr., Frieda Martin Bennett, Beth Bennett, Miriam Bennett, Nathan Ayers, Montine Head and George Verderey.

They played in Carlton (just east of Comer), Lakemont (north of Tallulah Falls), Hoschton, and the Martin Institute. Look at those programs!

And check out the articles from the Jackson Herald we found mentioning the Serenaders! 📰 It seems that they only played as a band during 1925, as we can’t find mention of them again afterwards.
