The Wedding of Ashley & Greg
Saturday, October 12, 2024

Ashley & Greg's wedding and reception were held on a beautiful fall day at East Ridge Estate in Corydon, Indiana. This was my first time at this venue. The owners were so accommodating and made the process smooth and easy.

Thank you to all the wonderful vendors who make my job so much easier! Here is the lineup:

Hair was styled by Hillary Keith and the Makeup Artist was Sarah Ruttle.

Photography was the work of Jake Zaepfel Photos. It was great working with him again and the photos I've seen so far are awesome!

Their DJ, Nick Allen, handled music and sound for the ceremony and reception and was great to work with.

The crew from Ritas Taco Shop served up salsa & queso for cocktail hour and a delicious taco bar for dinner.

Bartending was provided by Brittany with Naked by Sunday.

Delectable cake in three different flavors was made by Sweet Stuff Bakery.

Decor rental including buffet items, centerpieces, a greenery wall, and a fainting couch, came from Party Rentals.

Ashley Popp & Greg, I wish you both a beautiful life together! Thank you for letting me help with your special day.

The Wedding of Harper & Jordan
Saturday, September 28, 2024

This past weekend I had the joy of coordinating for Harper & Jordan. Their ceremony and reception was held at The Olmsted, a beautiful venue with fantastic staff with whom I'm always happy to work.

Their ceremony was officiated by their family member, Anthony Jones. I loved how he not only brought in personal details that shared the love the couple holds for one another, but also highlighted the fact that, in order to successfully love each other the way we should, we have to be connected to Jesus, the ultimate source of love.

All music and announcements for the evening were skillfully conducted by Dj John Q, who kept the dance floor packed all night long.

Hair and Makeup were respectively the work of Color in the Ville and Carrie Lentz, who had the bride and her entourage photo ready right on schedule.

Speaking of images, I can hardly wait to see the work of Photos by Bee & the videographers of Cultivating Perception BY: Dantana Smith! Both were so great to work with.

The gorgeous flowers that graced tables, mantle, and wedding party were the work of The Desired Effect, LLC.

Guests were invited to take Polaroid photos in front of the rose wall provided by Jane Wedding Rental which they then tucked into her guest book alongside their notes of congratulation and best wishes.

Plehn's Bakery provided the simply elegant three-tier, pearl embellished cake.

I'm so thankful for the opportunity to work with this couple and all their awesome vendors!

Best wishes to Harper and Jordan for a beautiful life together!

What they don’t tell you when you stand at an altar on a lovey-dovey afternoon in fancy outfits is that marriage, on paper, is about commitment and fidelity—but marriage, in practice, is about sacrifice and starting over.

Even when you’re tired. Even when you’re angry. Even when you don’t feel like it. Especially then.

You wake up at 3 a.m. to a snoring spouse and jab his side so he rolls over, an interruption he doesn’t remember in the morning, but you definitely do.

Start over.

You glance down at the gas gauge in your car and realize sometime in the last 24 hours, despite the tense words you exchanged over nothing in the same time frame, he filled it for you just because.

Start over.

You turn dress socks and t-shirts right-side out as you fish them out from underneath the bed and toss them onto the growing laundry pile that never seems to be conquered.

Start over.

You hear him reading a story in the other room at bedtime, making the silly monster voice that dissolves your daughters into puddles of giggles, the kind of deep-down-to-your-toes laughter you don’t show him nearly enough these days.

Start over.

You put away yet another pair of size 12 shoes that always seem to be cluttering up the didn’t-I-just-clean-this front hall, the ones that track in sand and dirt and the heavy load of responsibility he shoulders for your family quietly.

Start over.

And you learn, somewhere in the minutia of married life, that this partner you promised forever isn’t perfect. You realize how flawed and finicky and utterly selfish you are, too.

So you start over. Again and again. Day after day. For now and forever, until death do you part.

It’s true what they say: marriage can be hard work—but it’s humble and holy and beautiful, too.

In the spaces between the picture-perfect moments and the memories that weave together a lifetime stand two imperfect people who choose, sometimes even without knowing, to start over.

And it can make all the difference.

“Bethany can help you with that!” How often that offer, made by my mother to friends and acquaintances, got me into interesting and unusual situations. From hours spent in the basement of a consignment shop sorting clothing, to a hot summer day cleaning a frog ridden above ground pool, I never knew what I might be volunteered for next! But I learned to meet whatever I faced with determination and figure it out. However, on this particular occasion, it was the first time I got to taste my dream. As a young girl, I loved all things wedding. I’m sure part of it was my own dream of one day marrying the man of my dreams, but every detail attracted me. So when my mother offered my services to her friend, who was preparing for her daughter’s wedding, I was overjoyed. I remember the reception was held in an old K of C hall. I helped to decorate the room and then kept the buffet table stocked, climbing down a rough wooden ladder to the “kitchen” area to grab trays of food to carry back to the waiting guests. I was in heaven! For the next several years, I helped every bride who would have me. I served food, made invitations, plotted budgets, researched vendors, made bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, organized processionals & recessionals, even filled in as MC once when a microphone shy “DJ” (I use that term very loosely here as this guy was really more of a friend with a speaker and laptop) decided he was unable to make announcements. Each of these experiences added knowledge and built my confidence. I eventually met and married a man who was better than even my best dreams, and now I have turned what I love to do into a business that helps others. Having been a bride myself, I understand what an important day this is for a bride and groom. I know the dreams, emotions, planning, and finances that they have invested. I never take for granted the trust that is placed in me to carry out their wishes. A bride deserves nothing less than a coordinator who will serve her with Excellence, who will help her find Solutions to all the little issues that inevitably pop up throughout the process, and will do their best to make her Wedding all she is hoping for. I appreciate that you have taken your time to check me out. Should you choose to hire me, I will do my best to help you achieve your dream of your perfect day.
