As some of you know, my prep kitchen in Jewett caught fire Wednesday. While the building is a total loss, some of my equipment is not. A huge thank you to the Jewett and Marquez VFD for your prompt response and efficiency; if not for you, I would have nothing left. We are also so thankful no one was there to get hurt, and also thankful that it did not spread to the real estate office next door.
This is just a minor setback. Corby and I already have architectural plans in place to build a permanent location in Jewett and had actually started the loan process. Life kinda stopped with a recent family loss, but now we are back on track to move forward.
About 20 years ago, I had written a quote down and pinned it to Rusty’s board in his office. It read “Even if you’re on the right track, you will get ran over if you just sit there.” I had always encouraged him to expand and do more, sometimes at the bewilderment of my mother because I had even told him we should consider building a second CCBBQ. He was always on board with my crazy ideas. I have stolen a few moments of silence the last couple of days to think and pray about what we should do, and I hear two voices. Jesus has told me “Do not be afraid because it is time.” And I can hear Rusty, one of my biggest encouragers, saying “Hell yes, go for it!” ❤️
I hear you both. I’m ready to close out 2023 and welcome 2024 with all the things to come. Thank you to the amazing support this community has shown me the last few years, and I look forward to serving you on a regular and weekly basis in the near future.
