Happening at The Rawlings exactly 60 years ago today!!! It was the place to be! Where were you?

Nashville Then: A 1961 Highlight – Joelton High student Joy Culwell sits at water’s edge before taking a chilly swim in the Rawlings Swimming Pool near the Clarksville Highway April 26, 1961. Approximately 25 students were determined to be among the first to take outdoor swimming this year, flocking to the pool that was just filled in preparation for the formal opening June 1. Go Preds!! When Southerners aren't throwing catfish on the ice, we fry them up for dinner! Here at The Rawlings, we've been serving up some of the region's best catfish for over 25 years. Our specially-seasoned, light cornmeal batter gives it that authentic down home flavor that has had guests from Eddie Arnold to Tim McGraw raving! This was our 20th year to serve a buffet lunch on Mother's Day. The weather was perfect and the food was great! We had a full house. It was an honor to be part of Mother's Day celebrations for so many families!
