A message from our co-chairs…

There are so many reasons we love being a part of the show choir community. If we had to narrow down our favorite, it would be the relationships. The incredible relationships we have with the students, parents, directors, and our competitors.
Yes, you read that correctly. ⬆️

Show choir has been a different experience than any other activity that we have been involved in. A community where our students show up to other competitions, even when we are not competing to support and cheer on other groups. A community where our kids are close friends with students in different schools districts. A community who rally’s behind each other when needed.

Today it is needed. Our friends and neighbors in Urbandale suffered a tragic loss this week. The week Urbandale is hosting the Urbandale Show Choir Invitational. This week they lost one of their treasured directors. Mr. Harper, director of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs and Pizzazz show choir at Urbandale Middle School passed away this week.

We are so grateful for the support Urbandale and Mr. Harper showed us at Showzam. Tonight let’s show the same support to the USCI. Urbandale Pizzazz will be performing at 7:30pm during Friday evenings competition. If you are around this evening, we ask that you show up and support these students as they perform their exhibition.

We also ask that you please consider making a contribution to support Mr. Matthew Harper’s beautiful wife Anna and their baby due in May by donating to the linked GoFundMe - The Harper Family.

Sending all our thoughts and love to all those impacted by Mr. Harper’s loss.

Innovation and Synergy had an amazing day at Westside Competition of Excellence yesterday!! It was a great start to the competition season, and both choirs loved traveling to and performing in Nebraska! 🎉

Congratulations to these groups on their excellent performances! Synergy took 1st place in the Prep Division 🥇 and Malia Thompson received Best Soloist. Innovation won Grand Champs 🏆 as well as Best Ballad, Best Choreography, and Best Vocals!! Thank you to Omaha Westside for hosting and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season will bring!

Tonight was all about our show choir, show band, and show crew students! The older students were paired up with the younger students, so they could get to know each other. Then Fusion, Impact, Sound Advice, Bella Voce, Synergy, and Innovation performed their shows for each other. What a great tradition that brings our whole show choir student body together!

Less than 48 hours ago, this auditorium was packed for Showzam. The participants put on amazing shows and the spectators were fabulous in cheering them on! 💜💛 We love Showzam weekend and look forward to Showzam 2025!!!

Now, in just a couple hours, the house will be packed again as all six Johnston show choirs perform for the student show! Reminder, this is a closed show, no spectators. Tonight is just for the show choir students.

Excited to watch Johnston show choir again? Innovation and Synergy travel to Omaha Westside Competition of Excellence this Saturday. Catch us then!

💜💛 Show Choir Student Show 💛💜

Tonight Fusion, Impact, Sound Advice, Bella Voce, Synergy, and Innovation will perform for each other. As much as we would love to have parents join us, this show is ALL about the students!! The young performers will meet up with their assigned buddy’s, play games, get to know each other, participate in some fun competitions with our amazing emcee, Mike Herrmann and then perform for each other.

We are looking forward to a night all about the kids!

🚫 Parents will drop their students off and pick them up at JHS. No spectators including parents for this performance.
