Big News! The UC Merced medical education program – striving to help breach the shortage of physicians and other health care professionals in the Central Valley – took a major step forward with a GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY for the new Medical Education Building that is slated for completion in fall 2026.
The 150,000-square-foot structure will serve as home for the university’s San Joaquin Valley PRIME Plus Program (SJV PRIME+), an academic partnership with the San Francisco University of California and its Fresno campus. Turner Construction - Mid-Atlantic
On three floors of classrooms, labs and offices, the new facility will also incorporate UC Merced legacy Public Health and Psychological Sciences faculty and students as well as the Health Sciences Research Institute.
