Since the age of 19, Robert Kurtzman has worked as a Makeup / special effects makeup Artist. He has become an icon in the world of special make-up, creature effects, and genre film making. His award-winning, photo realistic effects work can be seen in hundreds of movies including Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, franchises and television series.

As the director of such genre hits and fan favorites as Wishmaster, The Rage, and Buried Alive, and as the creator of the modern horror classic From Dusk Till Dawn, his films and amazing special effects have won him legions of fans around the globe.

​Robert is one of the co-founders of the award winning K.N.B. EFX Group Inc. (Kurtzman-Nicotero-Berger). K.N.B. became one of the most prolific effects studios in Hollywood with hundreds of feature film and television credits including From Dusk Till Dawn, Dances With Wolves, Jingle All The Way, Austin Powers: Gold-Member, Rat Race, Unbreakable, House on Haunted Hill, Spawn, Casino, The Faculty, Sam Raimi’s Army of Darkness, Thir13en Ghosts, City Slickers, The Green Mile, John Carpenter’s Vampires and In The Mouth of Madness, Village of the Damned, Stephen King’s Misery, Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Wes Craven’s Scream 1,2,3 and New Nightmare, Jason Goes To Hell, as well as the television series Tales From The Crypt, Hercules, Xena, Outer Limits, ER, Chicago Hope and many more.

We have $400 worth of prizes to give out from businesses across the region. The contest is Saturday only. Sign up and prejudging is from 1pm-230pm at their table next to near the main entrance to Centennial Hall. You can get signed up and get pictures taken!

Exciting news, folks! Tickets are officially up for grabs!
It's a steal at only $20 on Saturday and just $15 on Sunday. The weekend pass is going for $30. Children aged twelve and under can join us free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder who has paid admission. ✨
We extend this special offer to Arkansas State University employees or students (on any campus) with valid IDs: you will receive a discount of ten percent off the regular price if you purchase your tickets in person at the event entrance!

Original Geek is a comic publishing company from Central Arkansas. For the past two-three years, they have been doing the con circuit in Arkansas. Now that they have established themselves after successfully funding a total of 5 books on Kickstarter (at this time anyways) and selling a few thousand copies of their first three books, Original Geek is moving on to expanding their reach, including into other states.
The comics they have funded include three issues of Vengeance (written by Nick Helms, owner of the company, pencils/inks by Jake Jackson & colors by Cameron Asselin; issue three releases in May), Paladin #1 (written/art by Cameron Asselin), and the 8th Day #1 (written by Nick & art from Eric Cushing; releases in March). The 8th Day is OG’s biggest comic yet. Not only is it 48 pages, making it a double issue, but it also is heavily inspired by manga. The teams refer to it as a manga/comic hybrid.
Along with the people mentioned above, also on the team include Sean Litten (artist), LeRon McAdoo (freelance artist), Luke Smith (head of OG Records), Salem Black (artist), Mike Nixon (artist) and Jared Rowe (marketing/ host of the popular podcast “If You Give A Dad A Podcast,” which has had guests like Cullen Bunn, Phil Parsons, J. Michael Tatum, Jason Douglas and many more.) Original Geek is also planning to move into other avenues in 2024 like apparel, an indie music label, audio dramas, and more.
