Mrs. Calista's Music Studio Mrs. Calista has been teaching students privately since 1995. She runs a successful harp and piano studio in Macon, GA.

She is the harp professor at Mercer University and coaches the Middle Georgia Harp Ensemble. Harp and piano lessons for all ages and abilities. Specializing in Suzuki (ear training for the young), special needs (I have a degree in Music Therapy), and adult learners, students of any type finds Mrs. Calista's Studio a great place to learn to love music.

The Townsend School of Music is hosting Keyboard Day for high school pianists and organists on February 7, 2025, in conjunction with Music Day in the Life. This is a free event for keyboardists in grades 9 through 12, and will include a full day of events:

- Master classes and lessons
- Music theory class
- Introduction to the organ and harpsichord
- Introduction to collaborative piano
- Complimentary lunch
- Mercer University Keyboard Area showcase concert at 7:30 p.m.: Collectively: All About Collaborative Piano, produced by Dr. Kyung-A Yoo.

Attention all high school band students in grades 9 through 12 - the 2nd Annual Townsend School of Music Bands at the Grand: High School Honor Band Festival video audition submission deadline is December 1st!

Please join us for the second “Bands at the Grand” High School Honor Band Festival! The mission of the “Bands at the Grand” Festival is to provide a premier musical experience and build a community of talented high school musicians in the Southeast. High School musicians from Georgia and the surrounding region will be invited to audition. Made up of about 80 talented high school musicians, the Honor Band will rehearse and prepare a concert to be performed at the historic Grand Opera House in Macon, Georgia, February 20-22, 2025. Jeffrey Rowser, Director of Bands at Woodward Academy, will be the guest conductor for the High School Honor Band.

#harpbootcamp2024 is wrapping up. Due to a few being out of town/scheduling, it was a small crowd, but we were excited to have Celeste for one last camp before her family’s move. We had 4 participle in a masterclass, 4 lessons, 3 meals, 6 bags of popcorn, 2lbs of spaghetti, 5 bottles of soda, 2 dogs, 2 Christmas ornaments (per camper), and one harp movie. The conversation about one particular harpist is sure to be very memorable for some time 😉 - in all, it was a fun-filled event! #maconharplessons #middlegeorgiaharplessons, #middlegeorgiaharpensemble #oncemystudentalwaysmystudent #harpfriends
