Flashback to July 29th, 1984 – almost 40 years to the day that we provided our staging for the Jacksons’ Victory Tour in Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey. Over the course of three nights, iconic songs including Billie Jean, Beat It and Human Nature echoed around the 44,000-capacity stadium, as Michael Jackson along with his brothers Randy, Marlon, Tito and Jermain performed for their adoring fans.

A crowd of almost 13,000 gathered on the grass of Hearn Plaza on May 20th to celebrate Wake Forest University’s Class of 2024. Positioned in front of the stunning backdrop of Wait Chapel’s 213’ steeple and directly facing Reynolda Hall, our 50’ wide x 50’ deep MTN PLBR was the focal point of the day, with over 2,000 graduates taking to the stage. In addition to the MTN PLBR, we also provided two 35’ wide x 45’ deep Pre-Rig Truss Side Stages that were fitted with video screens giving the 13,000-strong crowd a closeup view of the graduates accepting their well-earned degrees. Hats off to the class of 2024!

Over 13,000 graduates from Rutgers University—New Brunswick and Rutgers Health took center stage at SHI Stadium on May 12th for the university’s 2024 Commencement ceremony. In addition to supplying our 100’ wide x 60’ deep SP-1 main stage and 40’ x 40’ Pre-Rig Truss side stages for this year’s ceremony, we also produced a 7’ tall x 20’ wide recreation of the Rutgers University logo. Commencement season is well and truly underway for the MTN crew. On Saturday, May 11th, over 6,700 graduates took to our 60’ wide x 40’ deep SP-1 main stage for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Spring Commencement ceremony. This year marked UNC’s first-ever nighttime commencement ceremony and featured an impressive firework display that illuminated the skies above Kenan Stadium. Commencement ceremonies don’t get much better than that!

Providing the F1 pedestrian crossovers and Heineken VIP viewing area wasn’t our only involvement at the F1 Miami Grand Prix. At MIA Marina in the center of the Miami International Autodrome, we also provided the Tequila Herradura Mezzanine, flooring and truss structure, secured in place with the assistance of our MTN CUBE ballast system. Surrounding the Hard Rock Stadium, those at MIA Marina were treated to unique views of the likes of Lando Norris, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc expertly navigating Turns 6 and 7 of the 3.363-mile circuit.

Our crew was in pole position at the Hard Rock Stadium for the last couple of weeks setting up for the F1 Miami Grand Prix. In addition to providing decking to create pedestrian crossovers and bridges around the stadium, our crew also set up the decks and truss structure for the Heineken VIP viewing area which gave those lucky enough to be there an unrivaled view of Lando Norris winning his first-ever Grand Prix race! 🏎🏁

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how our crew engineered and built the custom scaff structure for this year’s Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia for On Running brand goods. Last weekend marked the 128th year of the Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track and field competition in the US. Hosted annually at the University of Pennsylvania, this year’s event was attended by over 99,000 spectators and 15,000 athletes at the historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia. This year, we provided and engineered the custom scaff structure, softgoods, and custom scenic letters for On, which became the focal point for Penn Relay’s Carnival Village. The unique structure served as a storefront where athletes could purchase and customize On Running brand goods.

Today we’re throwing it back to a blast from the past - our staging work for Live Aid at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia on July 13th, 1985. Organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, this global, 16-hour concert was held simultaneously at London’s Wembley Arena and Philadelphia’s JFK Stadium. An event unlike any before, the Philadelphia concert featured a star-studded lineup including Madonna, The Beach Boys, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams and Bob Dylan to name just a few. With over 1 billion viewers in over 100 countries tuning in to watch, the global concert went on to raise over $140m for famine relief in Ethiopia.

Almost 40 years later, this event continues to be one of the standout moments throughout our company’s history and we are proud to be a part of Rock N Roll history!

Tortuga Music Festival, Florida’s biggest 3-day music festival recently returned to the white sands of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park for it’s 11th edition. For this year’s festival, our MTN crew provided our HD+ and SP-1 main stages in addition to FOH, SMT Delay Towers, Camera Platforms and ADA Decks.

From sunset to sunrise, the Hialeah venue featured over 288 hours of sets and showcases from the biggest artists in the electronic music scene including Black Coffee, Dom Dolla and Charlotte de Witte. As one of the largest and most recognized reggae festivals in the country, this 4-day event brings together over 15,000 fans per day. Returning to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens for its 17th edition, Jazz In The Gardens Music Festival celebrated diversity, culture and art earlier this month with some of the biggest names in music. Our setup for this year’s event included the festival’s 84’ x 49’ x 5’ Main Stage with 80’ x 48’ Roof and 35’ trim, 27’ x 35’ Wings and VIP Platforms. Hosted by Rickey Smiley and Jess Hilarious, the two-day festival featured headline performances from a stacked lineup that included Summer Walker, Davido, Jazmine Sullivan and Maxwell.

We brought the summer vibes to Miami Beach for the 31st annual Winter Party Festival. On the sands of South Beach, our 156’x44’x24’ tall self-climbing ground support and two VIP areas let festivalgoers party from day until night at the festival’s original and most iconic event, The Beach Party. The Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Brighton Reservation hosted their 85th Annual Brighton Field Day Festival & Rodeo earlier this month in Okeechobee, Florida. For this event, we were pleased to provide the Main Stage for what is one of the longest-running Native festivals in the United States. In addition to alligator wrestling, an RCA rodeo and authentic food, the festival also featured a live concert headlined by country music star Dustin Lynch.

The 12th edition of the world’s biggest heavy metal cruise, 70000tons of Metal, recently set sail from Miami, Florida on board Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. Welcoming 3,000 metalheads from around the world, this 4-day floating festival featured over 60 heavy metal bands and 120 live shows.

For this year’s edition, we supplied equipment for each of the ship’s 6 stages which included a 90’x35’ Custom Performance Roof System and 68’x28’ Main Deck for the ship’s Pool Deck Stage - the world’s biggest open-air stage structure to sail the open seas.

Providing the staging for this event was no mean feat, with over 24 MTN crew members working around the clock to ensure that everything was ready to go before festivalgoers boarded.

MTN’s fleet of Mobile Stages were back in action last month throughout Florida for both The Stage at Coco and the Life Time Miami Marathon.

On January 14th, Tesla the Band took to one of our larger 40’x40’ mobile stages with 12’x16’ wings at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek’s outdoor concert venue – The Stage at Coco. Featuring state-of-the-art sound and lighting, elevated VIP lounges and A-list performances, the Stage at Coco can accommodate up to 3,000 attendees at each live concert.

Our crew next took the short trip down the I–95 for the 22nd edition of the Miami Marathon. After the grueling 13.1 mile half, and 26.2-mile marathons, this year’s 18,000 incredible participants celebrated at the post-race finish party in Miami’s Bayfront Park. Here, the Elite athlete awards ceremony took place on our 32’x24’ Mobile Stage with 8’x8’ wings and ADA Lift. We always enjoy providing our staging for this iconic event that brings together thousands of dedicated runners from across the globe.

The Little Lighthouse Foundation hosted their 14th annual Hearts & Stars Gala at Miami Design District on Saturday, March 16th where our crew provided the main stage DJ deck, VIP stage and ground support. The Tokyo Nights themed event, hosted by Jenise Fernandez, featured Tokyo-style gaming, delectable food and live performances from Busta Rhymes and DJ Jordi Ruz. Founded in 2010, the Little Lighthouse Foundation (LLF) assists underserved children and their families throughout South Florida. With over 20 proprietary programs and 33 partner facilities, LLF is South Florida’s top volunteer organization.

A very different load-in procedure for 70000tons of Metal! To move our equipment from land to sea, we utilized advanced crane technology to hoist each piece of equipment up to the ship’s 14th deck. What truly set this load-in procedure apart from other events was the human element. Without the ability to deploy heavy machinery, 70000 Tons of Metal required a hands-on approach with our team of 24 MTN crew members working around the clock. Shoutout to our hard-working and dedicated crew for getting everything set up in such a short space of time.

Lost Lands Pedestrian Bridge

Check out our incredible pedestrian bridge at Lost Lands Music Festival which was certainly one of our most unique projects of 2023! Designed, engineered and fabricated by our team, this pedestrian bridge was designed according to the Ohio Department of Transportation’s standards making festival access easy for all. Great job MTN crew! Here’s some interesting facts about this special build: - Built to withstand 115 mph winds - Handles 150 psf (vs. 90 psf requirement) - Spanned over a 2-lane, 45 mph road with 20,000 daily cars - 75 ft long, 16 ft wide, and 19 ft above the road - Reduced crossing wait times from 1 hour to minutes during the festival - Weighs 26 tons, assembled without major road closures and listed as a permanent bridge during the event. Our crew pulled out all the stops last Wednesday with another build in New York City to celebrate the launch of Victoria's Secret’s highly anticipated “The Tour ‘23.” The event took place inside the stunning Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center. Sumfest Miami 2023 was one to remember! With a large performance area in a relatively small package, the SL-320 is the perfect fit for areas where larger mobile stages cannot be manoeuvred!
