The Hawaiʻi Island Steel Guitar Festival is a free 2 1/2-day festival developed to promote and perpetuate appreciation and interest in the Hawaiian Steel Guitar. The festival is planned to include a series of performances by Hawaiian steel guitar masters, workshops, and open stage performances. The festival is presented by Mauna Lani Auberge Resorts Collection and produced by Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences (HIMELE). Funding provided by Hawai‘i Tourism through the Community Enrichment Program and the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts through appropriations from the Legislature of the State of Hawaii and by the National Endowment for the Arts. The Hawaiʻi Island Steel Guitar Festival is held annually in November at the Mauna Lani Auberge Resorts Collection on the Kohala Coast of Hawaiʻi.
