Okay. Have to begin to share my beautiful time exploring Japan with the crew, led by our darling guru of all things film, . It was an experience that will stay with me always, for many reasons (and not just bc I got to become besties with or a new nickname ) but because of all the beauteous faces I got to meet, the film pros sharing some wisdom, the freaking fooooood y’all- JC set us up right the whole time. The sights, sounds, smells… the speed and pace that the organized chaos moves over there. It’s beyond what my brain can compute and has me, like all of those before me, just desperately trying to get my 🍑 right back over there. So thankful for this opportunity, for getting to turn my brain off and just follow Jon around town was such a treat. .grimm you’re an all star for this gift you gave me!

Sunrise film shots before a lovely family session in Waikiki to my morning matcha on the lanai after. I so very rarely share family stuff but I’ve got so many gorgeous babes that have hung out with me at sunrise snapping up some memories. It’s really just the best. Thanks for always making me look better than I am. Shot with ContaxG2 before my water bottle opened and maybe killed it.

A Waikiki sunset from the water on film. It was a whole lot of fun while my nikonos worked for those 3 rolls of film. Damn I want that camera to work again! Who can fix it for me, I miss it dearly…. Or maybe I just need to make a “must buy” list for Japan. That’s the smart thing to do right? you’ll steer me in the proper direction on buying some bona fide pieces come October, yes?

Y’all. I don’t think I will ever get over how freaking amazing these two looked for their rehearsal dinner. We just had a few minutes to run outside together and play around - and I am so thrilled that we did. The detailing and the colors were absolutely stunning and these two were just so damn happy to have a little time to themselves to take it all in together. Honestly, it is always such a joy getting invited into these moments in time. How lucky am I?!

Throwing it back into my film archives - Iceland 🇮🇸 2016 solo trip, via my now long lost contax 645 (thanks to the fire/water damage that I attempt to get any information on my repaired camera and lens for years now…) anyways.

I have no idea the stock. Or how I shot it. But I know developed and scanned them for me. Bless them for putting up with me all these years.

2016 Laurie needed this solo trip - I did meetup with some beauties after a few days alone, but the solo time was so healing. And intimidating as I drove myself through towns with names I could not pronounce. Going KM and needing liters of gas… it was beautiful at every turn and I wasn’t even all that mad at how cold I was. Or how I was told a hike was pretty easy and thought my out of shape, 20 layers of clothing and camera self might now make it back.

But I did.

Iceland is wild, a true gift of a place to this planet. So here’s your reminder to get your booties out there and explore this magnificent place!

Midwest summers, maternity style with the loveliest momma. Did I feel like I was on a boat for 12 hours after this one? Oh my, yes. Was it worth it? Oh hell yeah. Perhaps looking through a lens swaying around may mess with ones equilibrium 🤷🏻‍♀️ again, woooorth it. More to come from our summer adventure. Everything is uploading as we adjust back with jet lag and unpack and lay on the floor trying to figure out what day it is.

Anytime I get to be challenged to get the shots before the rain hits - I just love it. Especially with couples who just don’t care that the rain is coming! We all kept shooting through the storm, just got in the water! But it’s so refreshing to have the vibes of “who cares, let’s have fun with it + dance in the rain “ versus “oh my god my hair”… because both of those reactions show up in the shots, alllll over your face. Embrace the chaos bbs and your end product will show the joy you brought into it!
