I have some exciting news to share!

I have been named the Best Wedding Florist in Kansas City AGAIN!

Being awarded Best of KC 2023 AND 2024 is the most incredible honor! It wouldn’t be possible without the support of my family, friends and the couples who trust me to be a part of their special day.

This year has brought on some big changes. A beautiful baby girl and a name update that better reflects my business! I can’t wait to see how I continue to grow. From the bottom of my heart, thank you KC!

This week, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Holland Hyacinth, into our family. While I will be partially active on social media, posting when I feel energetic and inspired, expect less content from me in the coming weeks!

I will be responding to all messages, emails and phone calls with first priority going to my upcoming April and May weddings. Please give grace with response times as we navigate our new household routine!

Inquiries and virtual consultations will be available as normal for all newly engaged couples looking for their dream wedding florals!

I feel truly blessed to have the freedom and privilege of postpartum recovery in a way that best fits my family and business. Thank you for supporting this momma-owned small business!

After a deep breath to reflect and relax, the 2023 wedding season has officially come to an end for The Bloom Co!

This year we designed 24 unique weddings with the help of some amazing freelancers, family members and of course my wonderful husband, Fred! Keep an eye out as I can continue to share photos from the amazing weddings we’ve completed this year.

I am beyond thankful for the year we have had and the 2024 wedding season to come!

Hi there, I’m Katelyn, owner and lead designer of The Bloom Co!

I am so glad that you are here!

A few things about me:

1. I have been designing for nearly 5 years now! I began designing in a floral design classroom as a student at the University of Missouri, which quickly turned into working as a designer for the student operated flower shop. I then started assistant teaching floral design classes until I graduated with a degree in agriculture and received a certificate of floral design.

2. I love the KC Chiefs!

3. My favorite style of design is garden inspired, timeless classic and ethereal.

4. I LOVE love! That might sound cliche, but I do. I wouldn’t be perfect for this industry if I didn’t!

5. My favorite flower is Hyacinth, a unique and fragrant bloom that represents wisdom, tranquility, happiness and love.

6. I am happily married to the love of my life, Fred. We’ve been married almost 4 years, together for nearly 8. We are high school sweethearts, who share a love of agriculture, Disney World and Chick-Fil-A!

7. I am a mother to the most amazing little boy, Freddy. At just a little over 2 years old, he definitely rules the roost! He is full of energy, spunky and loves anything with wheels. Freddy is my little sidekick 90% of the time and makes regular appearances at my favorite floral wholesalers!

8. My favorite show is Bridgerton. Have you seen the flowers in it? Enough said!

My wish is that I can help my clients to feel comfortable, open to collaborate and inspired to create the wedding flowers of their dreams!

Are you struggling to pick the perfect color palette for your wedding day?

My recommendation is to look at the colors of clothing you wear or the items you chose to decorate your home with! If you wouldn’t put hot pink roses on your kitchen table, you shouldn’t decorate your reception space with them.

Choose a color palette that you would happily hang in the middle of your living room because these colors will be in every photograph of your special day. And better yet, choose a photographer whose editing style coincides with your palette!

Did you know that most of your ceremony pieces can be reused in your reception?

My favorite thing to design right now are floral pillars and for a very good reason. They are breathtaking!

Investing in pieces that make a big statement but also have a dual purpose gives the best of both worlds!
