Happy Saturday! Third up on our countdown to the Underdog Wine 𝓬𝓵𝓪𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓬 ✶

Ornellaia 𝑳𝒆 𝑽𝒐𝒍𝒕𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍'𝑶𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒂 from Tuscany, Italy

A blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Ornellaia 2020 Le Volte dell'Ornellaia shows medium darkness and texture followed by a very primary and fruit-forward bouquet.

There is a generous display of cherry, cassis & wild plum. On second nose, this easy & straight forward Tuscan blend reveals hints of spice, cardamon & polished river stone. In a hot vintage like this, the wine comes together nicely & rather effortlessly.

An elegant straw yellow, Pinot Grigio 2021 entices with very lively aromas of white melon & cedar.

𝐶𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 hints of almond & toasted bread introduce the taste experience, where this wine expresses its harmonious & 𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑐 character through impressions of white pepper & green apple which emerge in the aftertaste.

Meet the first wine in our countdown to the Underdog Wine 𝓬𝓵𝓪𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓬 ✶

Teutonic “𝕁𝕒𝕫𝕫 𝕆𝕕𝕪𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕪 “ from Willamette Valley, Oregon.

This wine is a field blend of Riesling and Gewürztraminer. The Wasson Vineyard was planted in 1978 in the eastern portion of the Willamette Valley (also known as the Cascade Foothills). The soil type is Jory, and Teutonic purchases all of the fruit that is grown in this vineyard. Zippy and refreshing.

Caramelized green apple, peach nectar, and honeycomb with refreshing acid.
