Join us for First Friday! In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, let’s show some love to our artists! Join us for an evening of vibrant studio visits and getting to know the creative backbone of Kansas City!

We’re welcomed with Grandparents for Gun Safety who will be doing their annual pop-up for “Lock it For Love”. This is a community driven program created by those who have a passion for making gun safety more accessible by providing free gun locks and funding free locks for Swope Health Center.

EXHIBITION FOR FEBRUARY 6TH - MAY 2ND 2025

We invite artists to submit works for Homage to the Hand, an exhibition that delves into the intimate relationship between creators and their materials. This show celebrates the act of creation as both a physical and conceptual journey, highlighting the evidence of artistic process—layers, erasures, repetitions, and intuitions that shape a finished piece.

Mark making transcends the boundaries of medium. Each mark is a record of time, motion, and emotion, capturing fleeting decisions, unexpected accidents, and the rhythm of labor. We seek works that embody these themes, inviting viewers to witness the vulnerability and authenticity of the creative process.

The Zhou B Art Center KC is proud to announce its highly anticipated First Annual Group Exhibition: If Only for A Moment, featuring the dynamic works of over 25 talented resident artists. This landmark exhibition will wrap up on January 18th, 2025 from 6-9 PM, and serve as a grand closure of the diverse creative voices that define the center’s thriving art community. Spanning a wide range of media—including painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, and more—the exhibition will offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore both emerging and established talent in Kansas City’s ever-evolving art scene.

If Only For a Moment, is an exhibition that reveals how moments serve as the threads that weave together our shared human experience. The exhibition seeks to slow down the passage of time and invites viewers to find meaning in the subtle, the still, and the unseen. If Only for A Moment encourages contemplation on how every moment — no matter how brief or seemingly insignificant — can engage an opportunity for connection and gratitude. It asks: What stories do we uncover when we give ourselves permission to pause, even if only for a moment?

Join us for an incredible night of Halloween magic, creativity, and high-energy fun at Kansas City Tonight’s Third Annual Halloween Fashion Show on Thursday, October 31st, hosted at the Zhou B Art Center (1801 E. 18th St., Kansas City, MO).

BEFORE THE SHOW⬇️
🎃 5:00 PM: Trick or Treat with artists (free)

The Zhou B Art Center will be hosting a trick or treat evening with the resident artists before the show begins. This portion of the evening is free to the public.

THE FASHION SHOW⬇️
🎃7:00 PM: Cocktail Service Begins + Doors (ticket required)
the excitement ramps up with the fashion show portion of the evening so grab your drinks and get comfortable for a spooky and enchanting evening!

🎃8:00 PM Show Begins
Along with the incredible costumes on display, you can expect live entertainment blessing the runway—including musical performers, singers, dancers, special guests, and a few extra surprises that will make this night unforgettable!

🎃9:30 PM AFTER PARTY
Following the fashion show at 9:30 PM, the night turns into an epic Halloween party, featuring a live DJ to keep the energy high and the dance floor packed.
