Trans Joy in the Park Raytown goes indoors! In December we're bringing the joy inside with a community potluck in place of our usual Trans Joy in the Park - Raytown event. It's the same with our same organizers, just a new space to share warmth and good food.

Trans Joy in the Park is back for November, and we’re bringing the warmth indoors!

Join us Saturday, November 22 from 4 to 6pm at OurSpot KC (Café Room, 2810 E 80th St) for an evening of connection, creativity, and community care. We’ll have hot cocoa, art kits, an open mic, a resource table, and a cozy collection of books and zines.

This month’s theme: build community & rest your soul. ❤️

We’re thrilled to feature November’s Art Kit from the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art: a Weaving Kit curated by local trans artist Lily Erb!

This month's Trans Joy in the Park - Central AND Raytown will both have Blanket Trick or Treating! Attendees can wear costumes, decorate their blanket and/or bring a bucket to go blanket-to-blanket collecting treats. Thanks Junie for the awesome design :)

Trans Joy KC is gearing up for a big move this Thursday, 10/2 from 6 to 8pm, and we could use your help! We’ll be packing up at two locations then heading to OurSpot to unpack and organize our new storage space.

If you’re down to help, and like free pizza, DM us your email and phone number: we will coordinate with you directly. And if you’ve got any dietary restrictions or allergies, just let us know so we can plan accordingly.

Trans Joy in the Park is coming up again and, knock on wood, the weather should be picture perfect on Saturday, September 27th from 4-7pm!

This month's art packet is Lily Erb's wonderful Magic Model Animals. You can make your animal at the park with us, or take home. Either way, see you there!

Big changes happening at TransJoy KC!

Volunteer Coordinator K Bowers is stepping back from leadership to focus on their personal life. We deeply appreciate everything KB has done and are glad to have them as part of our community.

Our Admin Assistant Sav has stepped up to help with volunteer management and other essential tasks. Stay tuned for more updates and ways you can help out!

Trans Joy in the Park(er) Part 2 is happening!

Last month’s pool party was a hit, and with the heat still hanging on, we’re bringing the joy back to the courtyard. Join us on August 23rd from 4-7pm at MAA The Station (240 W 2nd St, Kansas City, MO 64105).

Free street parking is available, and River Market public garages are nearby. When you arrive, please enter through the courtyard gate, located next to the apartment complex parking garage entrance. Call Parker at 816-521-0944 and they’ll let you in.

Parker will be cooking again, but bring desserts or sides to share if you’d like!

It's hot! Trans Joy in the park is going to be Trans Joy at the POOL this month! The lovely Parker will be hosting us at their pool to help keep us cool, while still building community.

❤️Trans Joy Camp Needs a Hauler! Can You Help? ❤️

Hey y’all! We’re looking for a generous soul who can lend us a truck & trailer or moving-style truck to help haul supplies to Trans Joy Camp so we don’t have to rent one.

We’ll be transporting everything that will help us have a great camp this year, and we could really use a vehicle to get it all there safely!

Details:
- The vehicle needs to fit:
- 4 small AC window units
- 7 canopy tents (10x10)
- 1 canopy tent (10x15)
- 3 XL supply totes
- ~215 camp T-shirts (2 large boxes)
- ~215 Camper Welcome Bags (6 large boxes)

- Pickup timing: Ideally by Tuesday 7/15 to pack and head out early Wednesday 7/16.

- Return timing: Preferably Monday 7/21, but flexible! I can also return it Wednesday 7/16 or arrange pickup again on Sunday 7/20 with drop-off later that night.

- I’ll be driving it myself (I’ve got experience with U-haul vans and flatbeds with trailers), OR if you prefer, you’re welcome to drive, or even stay at camp if you’re a camper!
