The Emerald 1 Year Anniversary recap! Far too many iconic photos to cram into one post so this will likely be a multi post recap!

It’s crazy to think that all of you looked outside at the menacing angry storm clouds that night and STILL decided it was worth it to come to the party. Your support for The Emerald and our performers is stronger than ever and we can’t thank you enough for making it one of the most memorable nights to date!

HAMLET JR. !

Set in modern suburbia, our slutty, sitcomish take on Shakespeare’s classic is sure to satisfy even the most refined thespian appetite. The show features a star-studded cast of Emerald favorites and runs one hour and forty minutes. You don’t want end up the only turkey without a ticket…so buy yours now!!!

Hey everyone. We have some unfortunate news to share with you all. The Emerald will be closing its doors come July. It was always our plan to stay open as long as possible and we were hoping for a longer streak, but our building was purchased recently, and to put it simply, our new landlord’s vision for the buildings future does not include The Emerald. Our current lease ends in July, so we DO still have a couple months left to do what we do best. We’re really excited about the string of shows we have left, including our 1 year anniversary show on April 27th, so now is the time If you haven’t attended a show yet.

The GOOD thing is that we created this thing that we’re extremely proud of, and it’s also something we’re not done with either. That is all to say that we have already begun our search to relocate The Emerald. It will obviously be hard to find a place nearly as cool as the current building we’re in, but we remain ambitious, hopeful, and delusional enough to believe we can make it happen. Really hoping for the opportunity to make a “exciting news everyone!” post, but for now we just hope to see you all at a show and hangout in this iconic room with a rich history that we feel extremely fortunate to be part of. Saturday April 27th! Wowie can’t believe it’s already been a year since we officially opened The Emerald. Last April we really hit the ground running on our quest to provide a space that encourages performers to experiment, chase ambitious ideas and make attempts to push the boundaries of their mediums.

We’re very proud to be part of the Kansas City arts community, so we are excited to invite you all to celebrate with us for our one year birthday party! Dress up and make sure to wear your dancing shoes, because we’ve got providing live dance music all night! It wouldn’t be a party without showcasing some of our favorite local performers in town! We’re talkin clowns, burlesque, live music, magic, drag, sideshow, comedy and more! If you’ve yet to come to The Emerald, this is the one to put in your calendars.

This Friday March 29th, 2024 !! presents its second seasonal Fashion and Art Show, ‘Dormouse Daydream. This year’s spring showcase will be hosted at The Emerald. Art Bizzar is an unconventional, performance-based experience featuring the artistry and designs of a dozen local underground talents; we call it ‘Punk Couture.’ Inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ this event challenges designers to create their dream characters ones they would encounter if they too fell down the rabbit hole. Join us for a night to remember; be sure to secure your tickets, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Body Language is the brainchild of and it has quickly become one of the hottest shows in town and it’s turning THREE! Time flies when you’re having fun! Comedians provide the jokes and when the audience gives a big laugh the comedians will shed their clothes. Pair that with a couple electrifying drag and burlesque performances and we have a PARTY! It's easy to see why this high energy showcase is unlike any other show you will catch around town. Watch with your friends and bring some cash to tip your performers! More butts, more laughs and more fabulousness than this dang ass city has ever seen!

Tickets can be purchased online and will be $20 in advance and $30 at the door

Doors will be at 8:00 and the show will start at 9:00. Seating is first come first serve so please arrive early so you can grab your perfect seat. If you need specific seating please let us know ahead of time and when you arrive so we can make sure you’re comfy.
