With several years planning experience, she has found her niche helping brides achieve wedding day perfection. Her professionalism, passion and tireless work ethic make her the perfect asset on your special day. Hannah was introduced to the wedding industry in 2008 when she worked as an Event Manager at one of Kansas City's premiere wedding and event venues. During this time, Hannah planned and co

ordinated hundreds of weddings, while building strong professional relationships with several of Kansas City's finest wedding vendors. She specializes in wedding day assistance, as well as full-service wedding planning and ex*****on. "My good friends Drew and Marie were getting married and they hired Hannah to help. As the best man, I was shocked how smooth everything went. From arriving at the church for the rehearsal to the end of the reception, Hannah had everything under control. She knows exactly what to do and worked so well with the wedding party. The weekend was definitely a big success because of her. Thanks again." - Noah Ney, Best Man

“David and I worked with Hannah for our wedding in November and had an amazing experience every step of the way. She is a meticulous professional that is fun to work with, was always two steps ahead of us, and couldn't seem to find "no" in her vocabulary over the 8 months we worked together. I highly recommend this young lady!” - Anita Bromage

“Hannah is intelligent, focused and a genuine joy to be around. She is always quick to help with anything a vendor, associate or client needs. Flexibility is a must in this environment and Hannah overcomes anomalies with ease. Job well done always!”- Kelly Acock, owner, The Monarch Flower Co. "Hannah has been a real pleasure to work with throughout this whole process, and both Emily and Tilman have said more than once how impressed they have been with her thoroughness, professionalism and friendliness. Patty and I agree whole-heartedly! The wedding struck just the right note of elegance and intimacy that we were looking for. I could go on and on." - Phil Love, Father of the Bride

Weddings at private homes are one of my very favorites. The opportunities to fully customize a space, to keep things intimate, personal and relevant to the couple - it’s a truly unique experience we have blessed to have many times in my career. 🩷🩷🩷

It can be scary to hand over a deposit months before the service is performed at your wedding. The reason for deposits are critical to compensate your pros for their time with you during booking, the commitment they and their teams lock in for you and to financially secure a contract.

This can get tricky when things need to change or adjust which is why it’s important to know the origin of these costs and to read your contracts thoroughly!!

Deposits are crucial for the client/vendor relationship to work so be sure you understand why that is 🩷🩷🩷

When interviewing and vetting your vendors there are some key reg flags you’ll want to look for! Here are my top 4 that I am considering when adding a new pro to my referral list.

Pro tip: if you recognize a red flag, call it out. We, as small businesses are always learning and adapting to the current trends. If you didn’t book someone because something didn’t feel right let them know so they can work to improve their business and process. Often times when I point them out, pros are grateful for the feedback and usually don’t realize it would be an issue.

What other res flags kept you from booking someone?

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when researching your vendor team. There are so many options and inspiration that it can cause planning paralysis. Where to go when this happens?

Consult your venue and/or your planner. They have preferences, favorites and experience to share. Almost always they can help narrow the list and give you the confidence in your choices, as well as an opportunity to ask questions, show pictures and satisfy your nerves.

Don’t be afraid to DM inspiration photos you see on social media. Ask questions about vendors, pricing, conditions. Ask questions about how you can apply those ideas in your circumstances. Social medias basic function is to share information and build community so don’t hesitate to dive in with questions and hear from real professionals.

Have you felt overwhelmed while you plan!

It’s hard to know who to hire and how to trust they’ll take good care of you! These are some dos and don’ts when it comes to navigating the process of vetting your team.

We created an entire ebook on vendor selection because it can be a difficult process- one that you’ll ask yourself “is this normal?” several times. Or “how do I know…?” It’s a daunting task but I’m here to help!

What questions do you have as you select your team?

Yes, there is hierarchy when it comes to vendor selection. And although there are much sexier and fun decisions to make, you’ve got to start with the group that only performs one wedding a day because they have limited flexibility and they book up fast!!

The planner should always be first because they can help guide you to the rest. People always ask what my secret sauce is and it’s always my team. To get tried and true positive results, I stick with what I know: good, reliable, talented, communicative professionals that will be elevate the wedding alongside me. Giving my clients access to this group makes all the difference to achieving the results they hired me to create.

As we’ve advised, setting your guest list is the first thing to do when you get engaged because it’ll dictate the budget and what venue options you have. Without knowing your guest count it’s hard to make confident decisions so those two major things and it can lead to be mistakes down the road.

How do we start making that guest list?

Create boundaries and parameters over who may be invited. This helps elevate awkwardness or tough conversations when it comes to “cuts.”

Put pen to paper along with both families so you can see a realistic number.

Review your list and take a second look at your boundaries. Do we have room to make exceptions? Do we need to create another barrier to eliminate some people?

Remember this is a process and the guest list can evolve after you set a budget or start scouting venues but it’s good to start the process with real information rather than guesses and assumptions.

It’s always good to continue to set goals and I take full advantage of a New Year’s resolution as an opportunity to level up. This next year you’ll see me:

👩‍🎨 making bigger design impacts with unique furniture, experiences, and custom elements.

📱expand my social media skills and continue to create a community centered around education, inspiration, humor and organization for not just my clients but anyone feeling lost in the wedding planning process.

🖍️ be brave with color and encourage my clients to incorporate a splash of something unexpected. Even in neutrals, we can punch up the richness, boldness and flavor to our palette.

👥 network more often with new and exciting, talented members of our wedding community.

🎥 take more pictures and video. I kick myself after every wedding for not taking more footage of the day. It’s all about documenting the journey and the outcome.

🥂drink more champagne. Relax, enjoy, and celebrate. We work hard and I often forget the balance of stepping back to appreciate the ride.

What are your resolutions? Where do you see 2024 taking you, and/or your work?

Happy holidays friends!! Cheers to being present today and enjoying this time with your families.🩷🩷🩷
