Rain, rain - that’s ok. At Three Points, rain doesn’t have mean disaster.

This beautiful couple had plans to tie the knot under the sun on our terrace. But Mother Nature had other plans. Fortunately the incredible event team have plenty of tricks up their sleeve. They pivoted this wedding ceremony indoors. The floor to ceiling windows still gave them the outdoor feeling they were looking for.

And magic happened when the team flipped the space quickly for a LIT dance party where guests partied all night long.

It was a beautiful night. The skies even cleared long enough for the wedding party to snap the “shoulda been” picture outside!

You’re in good hands with us. It’s enough to make you say “I think I like it when it rains”.

We had an absolute BALL (⚽ 🏈😉) hosting the 's Party at the Pitch and the 25th annual Tiger Ball a few weeks back.

The party started early for the event sponsors who enjoyed an exclusive Boot Room experience.

Guests entered through our Mazuma Premium Entry and were greeted by Truman the Tiger! Guests then passed through a compelling silent auction before proceeding into Huhtamaki Shield Club for the cocktail reception, seated dinner and program.

One thing you'll find here more than any other large event venue? Windows windows windows! Huhtamaki Shield Club's floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides of the room really let the sunshine in and offer a perfect view of our Pitch!

We think Truman would agree, events at really put the FUN in fundraiser.

👋 Hey there Corporate Events Planners! This one's for you!

Whether you're hosting a conference, a team-building retreat or a product launch - engaging your attendees is key. What's hot right now in increasing engagement? Gamification!!!!

Gamification is the strategic attempt to enhance organizations and activities by creating similar experiences to those experienced when playing games. Common examples of this include poll quizzes, trivia games, augmented reality marketing etc. (Some great examples of this method are Duolingo or Starbucks with their star rewards program!)

Basically, we're talking about adding game mechanics into nongame environments to engage with and inspire our attendees or clients.

Well, if there's one thing the Argyle Events team knows - it's how to game. And at our recent Compass Minerals Season Launch party, we Gamified to the extreme.

To kick off our season right, we put on a "Family Feud" style gameshow - featuring two teams lead by SKC's own Johnny Russell and Daniel Salloi!

Rather than delivering information in a dry speech or panel discussion, this format allowed the participants and audience to PLAY. The questions and answers sneakily contained the content we wanted to convey, but all phrased and formatted like a Family Feud game! This made the content compelling, tapped into our guests' nostalgia and emotions and was just plain FUN!

The new additions to our 2024 menu feature so many yummy, healthy, inclusive, and CONVENIENT options!

Our new Italian menu is sure to be a hit - offering options like Pork Saltimbocca, Steak Tagliata and MINI CANNOLIS (delicious AND adorable).

The addition of our Garden Salad Station option offers a lighter more health-conscious approach to lunches - featuring hearty grain bowls, choices of greens and tummy-filling protein choices.

And also new this year, our All-Day Meeting Packages take the guesswork out of all-day meeting planning. You choose the package (combinations of breakfasts, AM snack, PM snack, and lunches) and we take care of the rest! What is one of the biggest priorities we hear from our clients over and over? “The last place we did this, everyone waited a while for a drink.” It’s a problem, right? The party never really feels like it starts until you have a glass in your hand (psychology backs us up on this)! 🥂🍷🍸🍹

So how can we kick-start the party and solve this age-old problem?

1. Select a signature cocktail or mocktail (or two!) to feature. Have your bartenders pre-pour a tray or two of these cocktails right before guest entry. Bonus points if there’s a performative element to the drink-making that the bartender can be showing off as guests walk in the door. Our The Boot cocktail (which our devilish take on a smoked old fashion) is smoked on the spot with a torch. It's not only delicious but makes guests whip out their phones to take a video or pic – which can help generate social buzz around your event!

2. Offer a display of beverages that guests can grab on their way in! Recently we’ve been skipping the old-fashioned Champagne Walls in favor of more modern shelving which can be augmented with backlighting. Making your beverages positively GLOW, darling.

3. Fancy beverages don't have to involve alcohol. More and more guests are sober-curious! Include everyone in the party by also traying and displaying some gorgeous alcohol-free beverages. There are SO many fun and yummy options out there nowadays.

4. When all else fails, rely on the skills of your bartenders. Our staff at Three Points and Children’s Mercy Park are also our Match Day bartenders. Which means they are used to cranking out thousands of drinks in a SHORT period of time. This is what they do, folks. Stand back, and enjoy as they let it rip!

We’d like to finish up this Take a Leap series by leaving you with FOUR tips that will ensure your events are buzzworthy until comes around again!

1. Define your Purpose
To deliver an effective and unforgettable event you need to know what you’re trying to achieve. Are you looking to entertain? Educate? Fundraise? Increase awareness? Understanding why you’re building an immersive experience will help you develop a strategy.

2. Tell a Story.
Humans crave good stories – and are hardwired to remember them! Tell a story with your event and make sure it includes the key elements of memorable storytelling: a beginning (Entry and Cocktail Hour!) a middle (Dinner and Program) and an end (the after-party!).

3. Create a Sensory Spectacle from Entry to Exit
Thoroughly captivate your guests with visual wonders, acoustic energy, aromatic delights, tactile textures and flavorful food and beverage that evoke the vibe of your event. Theme your entry! Guest check-in was done at “ticket booths” for one of our Dark Carnival-themed events. Make sure each space the guests go through is saturated with music or sounds that reflect the theme of your event (a wandering violinist or a curated playlist!) And don’t ignore the most POWERFUL sense for memory making - olfactory! Enlisting the aid of our scent machines to pump the fresh and comforting smells of evergreen trees made a recent holiday party OVER THE TOP festive.

4. Interactive Installations and Gamification
The pandemic was a game-changer for events. In-person attendees are too easily distracted and absorbed in their phone. You want to get them up, out of their seats and actively involved! You create vivid and lasting memories by getting attendees to dive in and participate, rather than just observe. Think Yard Games, Arcade Games, Tastings! If all else fails, remember the three Hs “Head. Heart. Hands. Give them something to feel. Something to think about. And something to DO!

“Galas are striving to create interactive and engaging experiences to further strengthen and reinforce their attendees’ connection to the mission and vision of the organization.”

This next event highlight really enabled their guests to Take a Leap by allowing them to attend in appropriate footwear! Today we’re highlighting the Victory Gala 2023: Kicks n Fits!

The Victory Project an initiative of Sporting Kansas City, is dedicated to helping children through all of life’s challenges. They support children in Kansas City and the Midwest. Their clever gala theme was “Kicks n Fits” and guests were encouraged to show up and show out in their fanciest cocktail attire – AND fanciest tennis shoes!

Guests made a grand entrance through the side of our stadium and took a runway walk down our Pitch Apron. They were asked to pause and model their 'gramable kicks for our Kick Cam which was projected onto our video boards! The Kick Cam was narrated live (E! Red Carpet style) by KC fav (and fashion icon in her own right) !

Guests headed inside where they could view the silent auction in our Interview Room and mix and mingle in our UMB Field Club. The event was held on a steamy day in August – thankfully some branded ice sculptures by Krystal Creations Ice Art helped everyone keep cool 😎.

The event continued upstairs in our Shield Club for a seated dinner and presentation. Tables were and in keeping with the theme, centerpieces included custom-painted soccer balls done by KC’s own S**e Style - who also did the design for our entry!

Signature cocktails were offered in style at our bars, with custom, themed signage by Evoke Happy Design Studio!

After the program, guests could grab a glass of sparkles from our champagne wall provided by ICON EVENT GROUP.

Guests were able to bust a move to Lost Wax Band who were all clad in - you guessed it! Adidas Sneaks!

This immersive theme resulted in a record-breaking year of fundraising and a night attendees will not soon forget.

Next up in our Take a Leap series, we want to highlight Rock Chalk Forever 2023. Instead of a seated dinner and with the help of Augeo , The KU Alumni Association leveraged Children’s Mercy Park’s impactful setting, varied and upscale venues, and state-of-the-art technology to offer endless flow and design possibilities.

Guests were greeted by Big Jay and Baby Jay, KU Band, and a balloon art rendition of the Campanile at UMB Premium Entry. VIPs were ushered up to our Buffalo Funds Executive Level for a VIP Cocktail Hour and greetings from Chancellor Girod and Coach Bill Self.

A VIP designation also gained those guests access to our SKC Locker Room!

Huhtamaki Shield Club housed a silent auction, which UMB Field Club featured dueling pianos by Out on The Pitch Apron, games, a 360-photo booth and photo ops on the Players Benches kept guests excited, active and engaged.

Organizations that embrace this kind of gala event experience record attendance and dollars raised – and this innovative event was no exception. Guests could pay a cover charge to access our exclusive and rarely seen Boot Room. And utilizing our State of the Art Technology, planners broadcast entertainment and digital fundraising elements in every space – including on our Videoboards overlooking the Pitch!

In keeping with the theme, the menu was filled with Lawrence/KU inspired dishes. And as a fun surprise for guest, cocktails were served throughout the event by celebrity “bartenders”!

And planners don’t have to continuously source new venues to keep the feeling fresh – our many spaces and flow options mean we can transform the space into something different each year.

Next up, in our Take a Leap series, we want to keep with the theme of during events. No event did this better than our own team gala, Pitch Black. Today we’re to 2022.

Question: How do you move guests from one space to another, especially when they have to route involves boring, cookie-cutter hallways? Answer? Make it an EVENT (also add lasers)!

In 2022 guests entered our stadium in the most unlikely of places: Our Loading Dock! There they were offered a glass of champagne, served in a light-up flute to help light their journey through the tunnels of our stadium.

Guests followed custom floor decals down hallways, through tunnels and under the stadium seats – stopping for unique food and drink experiences along the way. Thanks to Platinum XP 's incredible and innovative lighting, fog and talent for making an atmosphere – it all felt like a page out of Disney’s Space Mountain playbook!

The route spilled guests dramatically out onto our Pitch – where they were greeted with fire pits, heaters and gorgeous charcuterie displays.
After their journey and proceeding cocktail hour, the group made their way up to our Huhtamaki Shield Club for a seated dinner and awards ceremony.
Following the awards, guests danced the night away in our UMB Field Club while enjoying mini-desserts.

At the end of the night, guests were delighted at the exit with a Late Night Snack, compliments of Freddy's! Oh what a night!
