PSA announcement re: Valentine’s Day. This year, I’m doing things a little different. I’ve had to pair back on the retail side of flowers and instead focus on events and corporate partnerships. I’ve loved creating Valentine’s Day beauties for you and while I won’t be opening a Valentine’s shop this year, here’s some virtual arrangements from the archives to bring a little color to your day.

For Valentine’s Day this year, I’m partnering with in Overland Park so if you happen to work for them or know someone who does, I’ll be popping up there Thursday, Feb 13 + 14 on their corporate campus with Floraloom bouquets.

Merry Christmas from my budding fam to yours! Thank you to all my wonderful clients and partners who I’ve had the pleasure to create with this past year. It’s been a real joy raising my daughter alongside sharing with her my love for flowers. Grateful for this life to create a little magic. And of course, thankful to my incredible mother-in-law who has stepped in to help me with the little one so I can go floraloom, and my husband who helps with late night truck loading and unloading and who has made me a more organized person this year so I can kick off 2025 full force ahead! Last month, I was so honored when Emily and Ellie, the hosts of asked me to speak on the theme: VIBRANT at . I’ve been going to Creative Mornings for about a decade back when I lived in LA. It’s the most incredible group of creatives coming together to learn, inspire, and connect — so this was a real gift to be able to share with and meet so many of you who attended! Thank you for coming and bringing your energy!

And a special shout out to the featured artist of the event - if you don’t know about her, you absolutely need to! She’s vibrant on the inside and outside and real joy to be around! Plus her work is just the most colorful pieces of art!

Hey Floraloom Fam! Colleen here 👋🏼 It’s been a minute since I’ve popped in with some life and business updates! So thought I’d do a spring check-in:

🌱 For those of you new here, welcome! Glad to have you join in the Floralooming fun. Good things coming on the horizon!

🌱Last year I moved out of my studio of almost three years at .ex (so many great memories and a wonderful work family!) and now working out of my home studio (aka garage and converted basement) for the time being with baby (ahhh, the learning curve of being a mama and business owner is REAL! Welcome any all advice from all you fellow mamas out there!).

🌱 This year, I’m just focusing on event and installation work and pausing on retail florals so I won’t be offering Mother’s Day flower deliveries but can recommend so many other amazing local florists who are!

🌱Some of you know me from my bouquets. After three big beautiful years, I had to take a step back in the fall after having baby girl and .floral is now the new florist in-house there! Be sure to stop in and grab one of her lovely blooms.

🌱 Grateful for so many of you trusting me with your projects and spaces to create for you, especially now that I’m juggling a tiny human in the mix. I feel incredibly honored to be part of your visions and excited to keep growing as an artist this year!

🌱And thank you to all of my Floraloom fam here for continuing to follow along with me. I may not be posting as much on Instagram these days to connect with you, but when I do, it’s wonderful to hear from you! Your thoughtful comments make me feel so supported and motivated to keep Floralooming! And of course, my favorite is when we meet off the gram in person. Face-to-face chats is my love language. But until that moment comes, sending ya a big 🫶🏼

Winter blooms for Parachute Home opening up at Country Club Plaza

Was making a Frida Kahlo inspired headpiece for @yolitortilleria to wear during her cooking presentations at the @nelsonatkins for the Día de los Muertos festival. I was so excited that I accidentally made the crown a month too early in September instead of October (🤦🏻‍♀️) and so TRUElove Coordinating & Design decided to use it for a WAY fun flower crown photo sesh with @mcbride.photography and @westrose_photoandfilm - Talk about spontaneous creativity! Look what they created with a lil’ pop of Floraloom!

It’s a new day in Kansas City and we’re still celebrating the KC Current groundbreaking last week for the first stadium ever built exclusively for a National Women’s Soccer League, let alone for any women’s professional team anywhere in the world! And it’s being built right here in KC at the Riverfront. We teamed up with CollectiveEX to create 35 centerpieces for the VIP tent in honor of such a big milestone! What a dream to be part of this special achievement ✨ Thank you also to @sunnysidemakery @_kortney_jean and @sbhr2991 being part of the process and helping bring these art pieces to life!

About Floraloom

Meet the designer

Hello! I’m Colleen Monroe, the creative director and owner of Floraloom Studio. We’re a Los Angeles design studio focusing on custom florals and decor for experiential events, installations, retail and media projects, and our recently launched workwear line of consciously-made, well-crafted clothing for women on the go, Untucked by Floraloom.

At its core, Floraloom brings abstract ideas to life through story-driven design. I began in costume & production design for film and TV, working alongside top creatives for HBO, Warner Brothers, Fox Studios, and Mattel. Design always began by understanding the story first. At Floraloom, we approach design in the same way, designing with our client in mind and the message they are trying to communicate.

Beyond film, I took up floral design with leading designers and event studios in Los Angeles, including R. Jack Balthazar, Mark's Gardens, and Walden Floral LA, where I assisted in executing designs for companies like Netflix, Roxy, WeWork, and Create & Cultivate.
