Holiday festivities continue: today, Park Hill students got to perform at the annual Kansas City Tuba Christmas at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts along with almost 300 other tuba and euphonium players from all over the area. Merry Tuba Christmas!

The Campus, Concert and Symphonic Bands Concert is Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 in the Park Hill Auditorium.
If your student sold Braided Bread, orders will be available for pickup at the Concert. We are moving the pickup table(s) inside the Auditorium so that all of our parents may enjoy the concert. Please pickup your order before, in between bands, or immediately following the concert, and be sure to get it into your freezer when you get home.
We are kicking off the Shakespeare’s Pizza fundraiser. Orders are due Friday, January 10. Frozen pizzas will be delivered January 30, so stock up for snow days and Chiefs Playoff Football games! A portion of these sales will go into individual trip accounts.
We will not have a Band Backers meeting in January. Our next Band Backers meeting is Monday, February 3 at 7:00.

Current Park Hill band students and some alumni (and a couple of band directors) performing at the second annual Saxophone Christmas at William Jewell college on Sunday, December 16th. With around 150 saxophones participating, this marks the 2nd largest saxophone Christmas ever!

Earlier today, PHHS band students participated in Missouri All-State Band auditions in Columbia. The Park Hill Band had 18 students audition for the band, jazz band, and orchestral winds. Please congratulate the following students for their placements in the All-State ensembles. We are very proud of their work!

Members of the All-State ensembles will travel to Osage Beach to perform at the state music education conference on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

December and that means it’s Concert Season!

We kick off the concert season with the Jazz Cafe this Thursday, December 5 at 7:00 in the Cafeteria. While the Jazz Band performs, Band Backers hosts a fundraiser Cafe with all proceeds going to our Band Programs. We welcome your participation in, and donations for, Cool Beats & Sweet Treats. $5.00 (cash or check) per person provides hot chocolate or coffee and a bakery style dessert.
Additionally, there will be a silent auction of items from local businesses including Add to the Beauty Bakery, Anita’s Famous Rolls, Corner Cafe, Eileen’s Cookies, McLain’s Bakery, and others. Please bring cash or check to participate in the auction.

If you’ve attended a Jazz Cafe before, you know that Tri-M raises funds by dressing the Jazz Band performers and Director in crazy hats. You’ll also want to bring cash for crazy hat donations.

This is the last week before a full week off for Thanksgiving Break. It’s hard to believe we’re into the Holiday Season!

The first week back from break will kick off the December concert season with the Jazz Cafe on Thursday, December 5 at 7:00 in the Cafeteria. While the Jazz Band performs, Band Backers hosts a fundraiser Cafe with all proceeds going to our Band Programs. This year, we are changing from a Chili Supper to a Hot Cocoa and Desserts theme. Reminder: Wednesday, November 13: Enjoy dinner at Chipotle on Boardwalk and a percentage of sales will come back to the Band.

Playoff Football games:

For the Playoff game this Friday, November 15, the Band and Guard will perform during Pregame and play Pep Band style music during the game and at halftime. The Trojans play Oak Park Friday - wear your red!
